• I sit up fast, my scream caught in my throat. Beside me, someone grown, then growls as his brother kicks him. I sigh in relief. Warm arms wrap around me.
"Did I wake you? I'm sorry father." I twist in his arms, and like always, my breath catches.
'Father' as I call him is about 25 physically. But he's been alive for well over 300 years. My 'mother' has been alive for longer. Though they look like they could be twins, they are married. Their skin is a perfect tan. Their hair whiter then snow. And to my jealousy they have very, very warm skin...and a beating heart.
"Night mare" it was more of a comment then a question. Though his husky voice is low, it carries around the room. Almost intently, mummers of pity echo back.
I nod, not wanting to wake anyone else. I have been having this dream for years. And I’m still not use to it. My best friend, a boy, well man, named Sean pats my back. He pulls me into his lap. Unlike the others, he's only a head taller than me.
That wins growls of annoyance from all the girls in the room. Everyone loves Sean. I hide my face in his neck. He sighs happily.
Sean, too, looks 25. He is the only one of his kind with pale skin. His midnight black hair looks like velvet. It falls to his shoulders and in his face.
Like every other time we get close, Sean’s arms tighten around me. I sigh and pull away. I keep my eyes down, unwilling to see his pain. Because they is nothing more he would like then for me to be 'his.' But I cannot ignore my reasons.
1st I did love him but not the way he loved me.
2ed He tried to kill me when we first meant.
    3rd We're mortal enemies. He’s a were- wolf. I'm a vampire.
As I think the words, the thirst rushes back. I become deadly aware of all the beating heart in the room. I relied I want their blood.
My hand flays to my mouth, trying to block out the smell of their blood. I look around terrified. Sean and Father are moving towards me, concerned. Everyone else is returning to sleep.
"NO! Don’t come nearer!" my voice comes out as a growl. Now every one’s eyes are directed towards me. I stand up, trying to find the fastest way out of the room. I hear Sara's voice.
"What? Filthy bloodsucker gotta puck? Or maybe she’s showing her turn colors. I knew we shouldn't have let her in here."
"SHUT UP SARA!" Sean yells. Then screaming.
'Who's screaming? And who's growling like that?' I wonder. The world spins around me. I close my eyes and open them.
I'm suddenly on top of Sara, teeth bared, longing for her blood. She's staring up at me in horror.
"Why don't you shut your mouth, little pup? Or maybe the stupid bloodsucker should show you what she can do." my voice comes out without my permission.
“Jezz, Luna. I was just kidding.” She stammers. I can smell her fear, but she tries to cover it. “I’m sorry.”
“No you’re not. Not yet, at least.” My voice says.
“LUNAR ECLIPSE!!!” mother’s voice comes from behind me.
The spell breaks. I rust off Sara and out the door.
“Luna!!” Sean’s voice and those of others follow after mw. But I continue to run.
I run for the next day, none stop. The thirst slowly fades. A little longer and I trip. I push with my hands, and then my feet. I fly though the air. My hands touch the ground and I push. My feet touch and I jump. This way of running, I find out, is twice as fast.

It takes me only a day to reach the village. Normally it work take at least two. I pull the hood on my cloak up and walk into the village. People watch me. My black dyed clothes and gloved hands are very uncommon in the region of the world.
I ignore the people, planning on leaving the village as soon as possible. I was doing great until night fall. As the sun dies once again, I hear the sobs of a little child.
Looking for the child, I stop walking. A little boy is lying in the middle of the road. I move into the shadows as a man walks up.
“Mommy! Mommy!” the child sobs. I tilt my head in confusion. The boy cannot be older than six, and most children do not leave their mothers tell 14. Unless for course, your mother is a sinful woman.
“John, you stop that. There an’t nothing we can do ‘bout you mama. She dead. Giving birth to your sister she died. Crying an’t gonna bring her back.” I flinch at the man’s bad English and understanding for the boy washes though me.
“It’s not fair. No one even cares about me.” The boy sobs.
“That be cause you an’t gonna stop you crying.” The man walks away. I shack my head. That is not how you comfort a child. I walk up and knell down in front of john.
“Go away!” the boy shouts, angry now instead of sad. He strikes out at me. I catch his hand and growls “you’re not the only unlucky one here. I’m by far more unlucky then you.”
He looks up in shook and gasps as he looks into my black eyes. “Wh-what are you?” he whispers.
“Lunar eclipse. Luna for short. You?”I let go of his arm.
“Not who are you. What are you? You’re not human, and were-wolves have gold eyes.”
    “Your name first.”
“Jonathan of highland. John is what I am called. I’m son to the knight John, and to the healer Rose. I’m big brother to little girl Emma” john says in a daze. He blinks and shouts, “Hey you hypnotized me you jerk!!!”
“And if I did? What can you do about it?” he opens his mouth to replay when the air changes. I can smell a powerful force in the land, coming towards the village. At a very fast speed. Judging by its kind of power it wanted human blood. “Oh no.” I whisper.
I grab john and run back to the village. I shove him in a house and shut the door. “Everyone get inside. Lock your doors.” Of course no one listens to me at first. So I stand in the middle of the road and snarl. That makes everyone move. They run into their houses and lock the doors. I am alone in seconds.
“Come out demon. I command you. Come out and fight.” I hear laughter behind me, though my body is already spinning it’s self towards it. I locate the demon intently. He’s in the air, dress as a simple present. Huge black bat wings burst from his back. He as short blond hair and red eyes you can only have if you drink blood.
“Ahh. Someone who can finally test my power and speed, one on one. What kind of demon are you? I can almost see the magic in you right now.
“Why are you here? Surely you didn’t come here just to die by my hands?”
The demons eyes narrow and he flings himself at me.
I focus all my power into the center of my hand. When I feel the magic lick my palm, I grab it. Black spreads out around me, like a snake. With a flick of my wrist, the black explodes. In its place is my favorite weapon. A whip. I jump out of the way of the demons blind attack, for to find and call the whip from within me, it took merely seconds. It takes one more to halt the demon.
I flick my wrist and the tip of my whip wraps around the demons neck. I twist and with a ‘click’ the whip becomes sharper then a sword.
The demon hands fly up to grab the whip. He screams as the blades cut deep into his fingers. His black blood drips to the ground, and I almost lose control. I step forward.
“You’re hungry. I can tell. Why protect the humans? Why not feast on them with me?” the demon gasps. “You’re a monster just like me. There is nothing you can do about that.”
“That’s where you are wrong” I snarl at him. “I was made a vampire ageist my will. But I am not a monster. In the 100 years I have lived, I have not killed. I have not drunken any blood.”
“Then start now.” The demon says. “I am Paul of the sky, winged demon prince. If you kill me, you will be hunted and killed.”
I smile. “I’m just fine with that. I want to be dead, but I have yet found anyone who can kill me. “
Paul stops moving and smiles. “The were-wolves are almost here. You’ll be dead soon enough.”
I relies he’s right and it angers me. I tighten the grip on my whip. “Goodbye Paul. My name is Lunar Eclipse. I am the only known vampire not have never drunken blood. I will not kill you, but you will be harmed.” I pull on the whip and Paul disappears into a black cloud. The villagers slowly open there door, terror on every face.
John runs up to me. “I want to come with you. I don’t care where you’re going. I want to come” I wait for someone to protest. I relies no one will. I nod and smile “okay.” He smile and opens his mouth. Whatever he was going to say was interrupted. A snarl fills the air and people turn to look at the giant wolf in shook as it lunches itself at me. I wonder how the big wolf can get so far off the ground as my body reacts and pushes john out of the way. The wolf lands on me, knocking me over. It turns into a human, revealing it as Sara.
“LUNAR ECLISPE! How dare you! Everyone’s mad at me now. Don’t even try to run, Sean’s right behind me. “She as me pinned to the ground though we both know I can break lose at any time. Now I know I got to leave.
“I have to leave. I can’t be around so many hearts for such a long time.” when I see her roll her eyes I decide to use a different way to get her to let go. “If I leave, then Sean will have to pick someone else to love.” I continue faster when I see her eyes flash with desire. She turns her head to look behind her. “Maybe it’ll be you. I don’t know. But he won’t follow me. He can’t. And you’ll have him all to yourself.”
“No” her voice is pained. “No it’s not right.”
Someone swears and a scent reaches my nose. Blood gripes my senses and everything goes red.
‘The hardest thing for a vampire is human blood. A fairly strong vampire may resist animal blood, or maybe even demon blood. That is very unlikely.’ My old teachers voice echoes in my head. ‘There’s no controlling a vampire around human blood…’
