• Jack And Jill
    By Fawn Breech

Jack and Jill, mere teenagers in love, searching for the wishing well. His dreams were for everlasting love, hers for him to be happy. Both wished to stay together, forever and always.
Something so beautiful is always wanted to be ruined. She was darkness and cruelty and selfishness, and Jack's long time friend. She wanted to be loved like Jill was loved, so she devised a plan to have Jack as her own. Her name was Lucy.

    "Jack and Jill
    Went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water....."

The search for the wishing well started with a map. Jack found it infront of his home early one morning, The trail was long and at the end, there was a red dot. Above it titled "Wishing Well, all dreams come true." His thoughts went automatically to Jill.
When Jill heard the news, they both knew it was a wonderful gift that could not be refused. They really could be together forever, and even though she had her doubts, Jill agreed to Jack's decision to go in search for it that day.
Their journey was long, but they made it to the hill. A hill was a nice way to put it, it was very tall with a long winding road. The bottom of the hill was surrounded by sharp rocks. Still they went up the trail, determined to have their wishes to come true.
Up on the hill was the well, waiting for them was Lucy, hiding and ready to have her own wish come true. She watched sweet Jack come up to the well, and Jill stop to stare at the flowers behind him. Jill picked some and took her time to enjoy her life as Lucy came up to Jack.
"I see you have found my wishing well," She said to the unaware Jack, "I'm glad my map wasn't too hard to follow."
Jack, a little startled, replied, "Oh Lucy! It was you that gave us the map! Me and my love now can have our wishes come true."
"You must really love her to come all this way," She said as she wished he would deny it.
"Oh yes, and if you promise to not tell her I will tell you of my wish. It is only what I can do to such a good friend as you to make it come true."
"I swear on my life," she said, thinking how the wish could be the desire to have the relationship end.
    "I want to marry her."

    "Jack fell down
    And broke his crown..."

She was repulsed, how could he love Jill so much when she could be better!?
He pulled out a tiny black box and showed her a beautiful ring. It was silver with a midnight black stone. Engraved inside it said Forever&Always. "I'm going to ask her after she wishes," he said.
"NO!" she screamed and pushed him, "You cannot love her, you have to love me! I did this for you to love me!"
Jack stumbled and fell, right before Jill's frantic eyes. Everything slowed, Jill's cries echoed as she reached for her falling love. She missed, and she watched him land on the rocks at the bottom of the hill, heard the crack. He lay motionless on the rocks, in a pool of blood.

    "And Jill came tumbling after..."

She didn't know what to do, she ran up to the top of the hill to the well. Lucy was gone, but on the edge of the well sat a black box, with a beautiful shining silver ring with a midnight black stone.
Tears in her eyes, she picked it up and read the engraving. She sighed and placed it on her finger.
"Forever and Always," she whispered. She turned around to the place where her dead lover was laying. She closed her eyes, and jumped.

    The End
