• The First Sighting

“This can’t be happening!” I yelled, forgeting that I was hiding.
“Did you hear something?” asked Justin turning around, finding to his surprise that he was face to face with me.
    “You-you evil baffon!” I screamed.
“Jaddi! Sweetheart! What are you doing here? I thought you left,” Justin said, looking quite anxious.
“Well, you thought wrong!” I took a step forward, my hand twitching, I wanted to slap him. “I saw you leaving, and I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come over after foot practice. Then I saw you with this prat, and decided to follow you.” I took a deep breath. Justin opened his mouth to say something, but I silenced him with a look. “Guess what I found, five minutes after following you? You making out with this piece of crap you call human!” I was oddly calm, considering how angry I was. This probably made Justin more nervous.
“Alice, darling, now you wouldn’t want you temper to get the best of you?” Jessica said, with the same sense of calm in her voice as mine, but I could hear the smirk in her voice.
“Don’t. Call. Me. Alice. You. Stupid. Skank,” I said through gritted teeth. My hand twitched again.
“Sweetheart! It was absolutely nothing! I was just asking Jessica for help wit homework, then I asked her to use her phone to call you, babe.” Justin said. I looked at him incredulously. What was he playing at?
“So you thought the receiver was her mouth?!”
“I….uh…Okay. Fine. I was kissing her. And you know what? I think we should take a break; see other people. But then again, I don’t you think you would be able to find another boyfriend anyways. Ha!” Jessica sniggered in the back round. I glared at her.
“I, ucckkk! You are THE most ignorant, stuck-up, two-timing, lowlife, LOSER who can’t even maintain a C average! You are a disgrace and I’m glad we are through!” I screamed. I walked away from them, starting to run. Tears were rapidly rolling down my cheeks.

How could this happen? I almost thought I was in love too! I guess this should have been expected, it was strange from the very beginning. A popular, hot jock asking out a quiet, nerdy girl like me? It was too good to be true. He wasn’t even that into me, now that I think of it. He thinks he is so popular and cool, and Jessica! Huh! Thinking that she is so beautiful and hot. Blachh! I thought angrily.

I continued to insult Jessica and Justin. Few minutes later, after the anger had subsided, more tears came, gushing like a waterfall. Suddenly, before I even had the chance to say ‘Watch it!’, I found myself on the floor.
“Sorry. Let me help you up,” came an unfamiliar voice. I looked up, finding an extremely beautiful guy with shaggy dirty blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, and a heart breaking smile face to face with me. I grabbed his outstretched hand and stood up.
“Thanks,” I finally said. I avoided looking at his eyes.
“I’m really sorry for running into you,” He said, with an anxious voice. I stared at him curiously. Why was he looking at like I was about to go into some sort of fit? Then I remembered the tears, and quickly wiped my eyes and cheeks.
“It’s ok,” I replied. He relaxed a bit, but still continued to give me the anxious look.
“Um…ok, well I am new here and I was wondering if you could tell me where Mrs. Barnes room is?”
“Oh. Yeah, it’s down the hall, the second door to the left.” I said, my voice barely audible.
“Thanks. Um…you ok? You look terrible, no offense or anything…What I meant is that, if it was me that made you upset, I’m sorry, again…” He said, with a slight smile.
“Honestly, I’m fine.” He stared at me for minute, as if he were making sure I wouldn’t go into a fit. Then he nodded.
“Ok then. Thanks for the directions.” He smiled a beautiful smile, and walked past me. I stood there, rooted to the spot. Slowly, I turned around and watched him walk. For a minute, I thought I saw him smile, but then I shook my head, telling myself that it was only a figment of my imagination.

Finally, as he went into Mrs. Barnes’ room, I took a deep, staggered breath.
    “Wow…” I breathed.
