• After I adjusted in the bathroom, I left to go apologize to the beautiful man who had cared for me. I looked all around the supermarket, looking for the pair of sparkling blue eyes, but he was nowhere in sight. I sighed. Now he’s going to think I’m absolutely rude. Great first impression. I was sure down on my luck. I walked out of the store with my bag, not even looking inside it. I walked along the sidewalk, with no defense, barely even holding onto my paper bag filled with my ‘candy’. I can’t believe I had blew that guy off like that… he was so nice to me. I jumped when I heard someone shout my name.
    “Yo, Jude! Behind you!”
I spun around, barely catching enough balance to stay up. There I saw Darin and Garrett, hanging out their windows, drunk as all heck. I shook my head.
“Hey Jude, did you change your mind yet? Darin said you would!” Garrett shouted, a silly grin across his face.
I gave a dirty look to Darin, but he just shrugged his shoulders. With a sigh, I walked over to the two, slightly embarrassed.
“I guess so. Who needs to pass the exams anyways?” I said, and Darin’s smile clouded over my dark thoughts.
“I knew you’d come around.” He said, as I got into the car.
We started driving, and I noticed that Garrett can drive pretty straight when he’s drunk. Though, apparently I wasn’t exactly sane either, so who knows.
“So, what did you end up buying anyways?” Darin asked, peering at me from the driver’s mirror.
    Garrett looked up.
“Hey, put that mirror back where I can use it!” He laughed, but Darin ignored him.
He was too focused on looking at me.
“What do you think I bought? A box of condoms, and Ad…” I stopped.
There was no Advil there. Darin gave me a strange look as I lifted out a white bottle, with a white label on it. There was a note also in the bottom of the bag, as well as a half empty bottle of Pepsi.
“What is it, Jude?” Darin asked, his eyes worried once again.
Stupidly, I read the note out loud.
“‘To Jude. I replaced your Advil with some of these pills. They are much stronger, just take one. At least maybe they’ll stop the hallucinations too’… Hey! This guy must think I’m crazy!” I exclaimed, realizing what I had said.
    Garrett laughed.
“What do you mean think?” He joked, but I wasn’t laughing.
“Hallucinations? What is he talking about, Jude?” Darin asked, his eyes glowing with anger.
I shook my head. I wasn’t going to lose my best friends over a vision of hell, or whatever that was.
“Well, who’s the dude? A boyfriend of yours?”
Why did Garrett have to try and make a joke out of everything? My face turned five shades of red.
“N-no! He helped me out in the supermarket today… ‘Dr. Marcus Jones’.” I read off the bottom of the note.
