• Tears built in Princess Violet's beautiful brown eyes as her husband, Prince Jacob, took her delicate face in his large, warm hands.
"Please don't go," begged Princess Violet.
"I have to my love, it is my duty to lead the army into battle" Prince Jacob explained.
"What if you're killed out there? What would I do without you?" questioned Violet, searching his face for answers.
"Don't worry, I'll be safe. You're probably going to be in more danger here, in the castle, than I will be on the battlefront," Jacob said. Little did he know that his words were true.
Violet watched sadly as Prince Jacob's carriage pulled away from the castle. After the carriage was out of view, the sad princess walked to her room. The beautiful room was decorated with jewels and expensive cloth. Violet didn't pay any attention to any of these things she just thought of her handsome prince. Violet's mind wandered back to the day she and Jacob first met.
It was a cold, stormy day. Violet had been out buying groceries for her ill mother. She was dressed in old, tattered clothes. She was examining a large melon when she heard a trumpet. Violet turned around in surprise as an extravagant, gold carriage pulled into the village square. A handsome young man stepped out of the carriage. Violet was standing in the back of the crowd and could barely see the Prince, but the Prince could see her. She was the most beautiful girl he had set eyes on. She had wavy, copper hair and the face of an angel. He proposed to her right there. The Princess said yes and they were married the next day. Remembering all of these good times made Violet cry. She cried herself to sleep.
A weird creaking sound could be heard in the castle. Anyone who was awake would see that it was because a strange group of men were sneaking around the castle. They all had their faces covered with a black cloth. Sorrow seemed to follow them. They quietly crept into Princess Violet's room. They came up behind her and knocked her out. They galloped away on their horses with their precious treasure
