• It was a cold winter morning, and Ms. Alice was still grieving over the loss of her husband. Her husband had died of brain cancer three months ago, but Alice could not get over it. She tried many things to help her forget her husband death and became an alcoholic. Now, she is trying to abandon her drinking problem. Not until recently has she found an answer to all her problems.

Alice was walking around Gate Town and found an old building. "I have never seen this building before," said Alice.

"I cannot believe you can see my library," said a mysterious voice behind Alice.

Alice turned around to see an old man behind her.

"My name is Mr. Saku," he said. "Come inside with me before you catch a cold." Alice followed the man inside his library.

"You see, only a select few can see my library," Mr. Saku said in a manner Alice couldn't understand. "All of my books can come to life," Mr. Saku whispered to Alice. "They have feelings and will grow as though there is no end to the world."

"Yeah right," Alice said sarcastically, laughing at herself.

"No it is true I tell you. If you do not believe me then go check a book out. I will not stop you."

"Alright I will," Alice said. She walked down several aisles filled with parchment, scrolls, books, maps, and anything else you would find in a library. Alice found a book about a prince and a unicorn. As she walked back to Mr. Saku she looked at the books and they all seemed to have been moving on the shelf. As if all the books were alive.

"I believe I shall check this book out please," Alice told Mr. Saku.

"Very well, I suppose you can," said Mr. Saku. "Let us see now… hmmm, that would be fifty dollars for the library card and twenty dollars for the book."

"How do you expect me to pay that much for one book?"

"Well I suppose you could pay it off little by little," said Mr. Saku, "but you would have to make a deal with me…"

"What do you want me to do?"

"Promise me that you will not read these books while in your bed. If left open, these books will grow out of control."

"I think I can manage that," Alice said.

"Very well then, here is your book," Mr. Saku said.

That night Alice read the book in her bedroom. She had been reading the book for three hours now and heard the phone ring. She picked up the phone and answered with, "Hello?"

"Hey! Are you looking for the best vacuum on the market? If you are press one now. If not please hold. ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫

"STUPID TELEMARKETER!" she screeched at the phone. What the? This is a recording? It's not even a person this time. What has the world come to? Well I'm tired so

I'll go catch up on my rest." She went to her bedroom and moved the open book to the other side of her bed.

The next morning she awoke to a garden all throughout her house. This was no ordinary garden though; it was growing from something, somewhere in Alice's house. "The book, Mr. Saku was right. His books do come alive," she yelled. She scurried around her house, looking for the book. She rummaged through her garbage, determined to find the book. Finally, she walked into her kitchen. It was filled with emerald and jade vines and outlandish flowers. Behind two golden flowers, glistening in the light she spotted the book. She approached the flowers cautiously. She read about these flowers in the book. They would attract people with its beauty, letting them near, then, at the last second they would eat them. Alice only knew that if she was capable of retrieving the book, she would be the only to do so. As soon as she approached the the flowers they bit her head off and she was never heard of again.
"Stupid people! You come to my library and never return a single book. Damn you all," Mr. Saku said as he drank a shot of vodka as the fire in his fireplace gently flickered.
