• Castle on a Cloud

There is a castle on a cloud,
I like to go there in my sleep,
Aren't any floors for me to sweep,
Not in my castle on a cloud.

There is a room that's full of toys,
There are a hundred boys and girls,
Nobody shouts or talks too loud,
Not in my castle on a cloud.

There is a lady all in white,
Holds me and sings a lullaby,
She's nice to see and she's soft to touch,
She says "Blue, I love you very much."

I know a place where no one's lost,
I know a place where no one cries,
Crying at all is not allowed,
Not in my castle on a cloud.

Young Blue the Shoyru was taking the dishes out to the kitchen. He lived in a large castle floating in the sky. His mother was very ill and couldn’t take care of the dishes. Blue wanted to help her, but the human kids kept demanding him food and drinks. The only thing Blue could eat was the table scraps. Plus tomorrow was his tenth birthday; never in his life did he get something. Even a tiny pebble would be satisfying. Blue carried two plates of spaghetti and meatballs, and two glasses of milk. Then he sat down and chewed on a loaf of bread. After the meal, Blue ate the leftovers and washed the dishes. By 9:00pm, he was as tired as a construction worker after working on a building twenty-four hours! His tiny legs were scratched and his arm was bruised, so he settled down for a long nap. The next day he got a letter from his mother, it said,

    Dear Blue,
How are you doin at that huge cstle? I am sill in the hospital in Faeriland, but I will ge better. I sent yu someting specia with this etter. Love you, and hope to see you soon!

    Love,
    Mom

“Huh?” Blue thought out loud, “Mom forgot a few letters in this note.” “Oh well, I don’t really expect her to be writing perfectly, she’s sick.” Blue took the package, it was a box shape. Then he carefully tore the brown paper off the box to reveal a small black chest. Blue opened it cautiously, inside, was a small gold and silver key. Attached to the key was a keychain, and on the end of it, there was a flat gold crown. Blue then noticed on the bottom of his mother’s message, there were more words. They said, DUNGEON. “This must be the key to the dungeon of the castle, or so I think.” Blue tried to explain to himself, “Wait, the dungeon is always open, so this must be the key to a door in the dungeon.”

Since the human kids were out in the courtyard playing, Blue decided to check out the dungeon. Trotting down the series of stairs into the part of the castle in clouds, he made his way to the dungeon. Blue saw dead skulls and skeletons in cells as he walked through the dungeon. A couple were…fresh. Meaning skin was still on them. Blood stained the stones beneath his feet. Suddenly, Blue bumped into the wall. But it wasn’t a wall as he looked up, it was a gigantic door. “Look, there’s a keyhole,” Blue said, “Maybe if I just…” He took out the key, stared at it for a second, and shoved it in the keyhole. The door and floor shook, the wood on the door burst open, as purple smoke rose out of it. The key flew fifteen feet out of the keyhole. Cracks appeared, making more smoke appear. Blue just stared at the door, paralyzed by fright to move. Then the entire door exploded. Masks with dark energy surrounding them jumped out of the doorway and flied through the dungeon into the main castle. Blue was flung back into the wall. He coughed up blood. Suddenly, the key grew the size of a sword and automatically rose into the air. Blue stood up, and heard a voice that said, “Blue, grab the Keyblade and fight off the spirits of darkness.” Blue was beaten up too much to grab the key’s hilt and fell on the floor. To be continued...
