• ”A blind date?! Are you crazy?! You fixed me up on a date with some guy I’ve never met before, without asking me?!”

Samantha “Sam” Harris hadn’t been on a date since her ex-boyfriend, Parker, dumped her 5 months ago, he had really broken her heart.
And now her so called best friend, Christina, had fixed her up on a blind date?!

“Well…Actually…” Christina let out a nervous chuckle. “Yes? I mean, I’m sorry but you have to get right back up on the horse. You can’t let that jerk Parker ruin you life.”
Christina was always looking out for Samantha; they had been best friends since kindergarten.

“You know I love you Chris, but sometimes you drive me crazy” Sam said with a smile as she hugged Christina.
“So what does he look like? What’s his name?”

Chris let out a sigh of relief. She was worried that she really had hurt her friends feeling.
“Well his name is Roger and he has brown hair, and the most amazing brown eyes.
He’s a few inches taller than you. And… hehe… I don’t know that much about him, I met him yesterday at Starbucks”

“Wait, let me see if I got this right, you met a guy at a coffee shop and the first thing you do I to set me up on a date with him?”

“Well, not the first thing, I actually tried to date him myself, but he’s totally your type”
“My type? You don’t know anything about him”
“Exactly! You like that mysterious type”

Sam let out a tired sigh. “Fine, when and where are we meeting?”
“Yay! Tomorrow at the restaurant at Fifth Avenue, at 7 pm”
    She practically bounced with joy.

    “Tomorrow?! What should I wear?”
Sam looked around in panic after something to wear.

“I thought you didn’t care” Chris said with a sly grin on her face.

“I don’t… but I still want to look good.”
    “Mm-hmm”
    “It’s true, I don’t”

    The Next Day

“Are you sure he’s coming? Hey wait, I think he just walked in. I got to go, bye”

Sam hung up on Christina and stuffed her cell phone in her purse. The man she saw walking in came up to her table.

“Hello, I’m Roger and you must be Samantha.” He stretched out his hand, which she shook.

“Yeah, but you can call me Sam. It’s nice to meet you Roger.”
When they both were seated they waited for the waiter to come to their table, and then they ordered.

“So Roger, what do you do for a living?” Sam asked after a moment of silence.

    “I’m a pathologist.”

    “Oh, how… interesting”

“Oh yes, it really is. I help the police solve murders. I help answering some questions, the bodies are actually a good company” he said excitedly.

“Hehe, do the bodies ever answer you?” Sam said with a smile.

    “Yes actually, one time.”
    “What?!”

“It’s a funny story actually, this guy who we thought was dead wasn’t. And just as I cut into him, he sort of woke up”

“Oh god, this is going to be a long night” Sam said under her breath.
