• “Rachel are you there?” I heard my dad say.
“Mmmmmm.” I moaned. I heard a lot of deep breathes.
“Thank god your ok sis I would have died if you did.” I opened my eyes and saw my dad brother and sister standing around me. My dad was still crying my sisters make up was smeared and my brother face was as red as a tomato.
“Where’s mom?” I asked. They all looked at me and started crying again. My dad got up and walked out of the room.
“Bryan what happened?” I asked demanding the truth.
“Mom got in a car accident and died she wanted us to give you something but dad has it. I think it’s a letter from a school or a friend out of state or something I don’t know but she said to open it at midnight sharp. Those were her last words.” My sister whimpered. I shot up like a rocket.
“Where’s her body?” I screamed tears running down my face. I finally realized I was in my own house but it took me a while to realize that. It also to me sometime to figure out that one of my arms was in a cast and the other was wrapped in bandage.
“Why is my arm in cast? And why is this one wrapped up?” I screamed. I was so frustrated but I bit my lip and didn’t cry. I promised myself I wouldn’t cry.
“You broke one arm when you fell in the bath room and cut the other the mirror broke and hit you in the back of the head and you passed out. And fell on all the glass and broke your left arm and cut up your right.” My brother said. “Her body is across the hall if you want to go see it. We left it out because they wanted you to see it before we buried her.” He finished and hugged my older sister.
“Ok ill be right back.” I got out of my bed and stormed into the guest room. There she was lifeless as pale as the guy I saw today. I looked at my dad who was leaning over her and hugging her saying, “This cant be true no not this not right now.”
“Daddy what really happened?” he shot his head up.
“Oh its just you come here.” I walked over to him and he out his arm around me.
“Look have weird things been happening lately? Like you’re getting hungry fast or your seeing weird things? You have been making things disappear and reappear? Have you been getting weird sayings like its almost time good luck? Please tell me the truth honey I need to know?” I looked at him and bit my lip so hard I could almost taste blood. He reached over and pulled my jaw apart like it wasn’t hard at all.
“Don’t make yourself bleed you will freak out.” He said and let go of me.
“What’s happening daddy?” I started to cry.
“Nothing just answer the freaking question!” he yelled at me. I looked at him and cried harder. I nodded so he wouldn’t scream again.
“You stupid child! Why the heck didn’t you tell us!” He screamed back. now I was mad.
“Why did you leave mom why did you get married again why did you have 2 other children that you didn’t have with mom? Huh yeah you know maybe I can’t answer some of those questions just like you can’t answer those. But I know the reason you left her it was because you didn’t want her to get hurt…” I had know I idea how I knew that but I thought I herd him say it but his lips never moved. “ You were the bad guy all along you didn’t want her to have a child with powers. You didn’t want to take care of that anymore. But you got me and now you treat me like dirt!” I looked at the clock. It was 11:57pm. “Dad give me the letter now! I want to know what I am I need answers!” he looked at me with tears in his eyes. He reached for his pocket and pulled out an envelope. “You will always be stronger than me I can tell.” He handed me the paper and walked out of the room. I was right behind him and I ran to my room. I slammed the door shut and looked at the time. 12:00am. I ripped it open and it read. Have fun at Westwood. All of a sudden I was not in my room I was on a train. I looked around.
“Where am I?” I whispered to myself.
“Why your going to Westwood School for powered kids.” A guy sitting next to me said.
    “What’s that?” I asked him.
“Its where kids that have powers go and train.” He said, “Oh my gosh i’m sorry I didn’t introduce i’m Chad i’m can make stuff freeze and light it on fire. What are you?”
“I don’t know actually i’m kind of confused.” I told him, “and my name is Rachel.”
“Oh I get it your new here that’s why your asking all these questions. Ok so what have you been seeing doing umm any weird cravings? Like blood? What’s been happening?” I looked at Chad. I looked around and there were people that looked like regular humans and some almost like the guy I saw the other day. I got really tense and nervous.
“Well I have been making things disappear and reappear…” but before I could finish Chad interrupted me.
“Ok then you’re a wizard.” He said.
“But then I have been having a craving for blood. I think I can read minds to because I had no idea what any of this stuff was until I read my dads mind I was confused.” Chads mouth dropped open. He turned to the guy next to him and said, “Dude Wade, that’s her that’s the girl!”
“No way that’s her wow Ummmm hi i’m Wade I can run over 300mph and I am a rubber band I guess you could say I can stretch over 50 mile across. What’s you name?” He asked like he was in shock over meeting me.
“Wait i’m the girl what girl?” he didn’t say anything when I said, “I have to save you guys?” I screamed, “Who’s this other guy? I have to help him. What is going on here?” I screamed so load everybody on the train was staring at me. I smiled and sank in my seat.
“Thanks a lot.” I whispered angrily at Chad.
“It wasn’t my fault you have to turn your power off so you don’t have to listen to all there thoughts.” He said when the train got load again. I sat up and crossed my arms.
“How do I do that?” I asked him.
“He looked at me just concentrate on stopping that power its easy once you get the hang of it but don’t try yet you might blow up your mind concentrating so hard that’s what a few kids have done. Just wait until you have classed with Jamen he’ll teach you everything.” Chad explained.
“Who’s Jamen and people can blow up their minds?” I ask confused.
“Jamen is the guy like you. He is everything. A wizard, a vampire and you guys have one more power, which in your case is reading minds. You’ll meet him when we get off today.”
“Wait people can blow up there minds?” I said again.
“Yes it happens to a lot of people. Take Tony for example. His brother and sister died because their mind blew up he never got over it for a while.” Wade said
“Wait what is Tony?” I asked.
“He’s a wizard.” Chad and Wade said at the same time. They looked at each other and laughed. I didn’t notice it at first but someone was tapping my shoulder when we were in a deep discussion about how blood would taste like and I knew what exactly it tasted like.
I turned around and saw 3 girls.
“Hi.” The oldest on said. She looked like she was around 16 maybe 17 around my age my age.
“Hi my name is…” but before I could say anything one of the girls interrupted me,
“Rachel Taster. You have all the powers and you have no idea where you are going. Hi I’m April Dimond i’m a vampire, this is Kameron Willis she is a vampire to,” She pointed to the oldest one, “ and that’s Stephanie Stars she’s a wizard.” She finished.
“Uh Hi how old are ya’ll?” I asked them I wanted to know one of then looked 17 and the other 2 looked like 12 year olds.
“I’m 15 just like April and Kameron is 16.” Stephanie said. All of a sudden Chad entered the conversation.
“Hey Stephanie.” He practically didn’t notice the other girls.
“Hey so what have you been doing this summer?” she asked him and went and sat in my spot since I had gotten up. April went to go talk to Wade who was trying to sound cool but then again he wasn’t but it was working for April. Kameron was the only girl left standing in front of me.
“So you’re a vampire that’s cool. So where are you from?” I asked her. She looked at me with pain-felt eyes. She looked so miserable.
“I’m from New York that’s where I was born. But my parents kicked me out so I live with April now. She was the first person I met my first year here.” Now I new why she looked at me like she was about to cry.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to remind you. I soared of went through the same thing. Well it’s a long story but my dad left my mom and my dad had me with a wizard and my dad was a vampire I have no idea how I got the mind reading skills that’s still a mystery.” We both laughed.
“Hey well I got to go the vampires are having a meeting.” She said and walked off. Before I new it I was alone in a car with no one to talk to because they were all at their meetings. I waited and waited and waited until some one walked in.
“Wow im so freaking late. They already went to the meetings. I can’t get in now. Shoot.” He looked around and saw me.
“Were you late to?” He asked me. He looked at me waiting for a answer. I shook my head no.
“Well then why aren’t you in a meeting?” He asked me. Then it finally clicked in his mind.
“Are you new here?” He asked, “I’m sorry my name is Landon I’m 17 and i’m a wizard. What about you?”
“Well its hard to explain what I am but my name is Rachel and I am 16.” I said
“Why is it hard to explain what you are? Are you a wizard? Vampire? Or just have random powers? What is it?” he came and sat next to me.
“I’m all 3.” I said I didn’t know what other way to put it.
“Oh my gosh.” His mouth dropped open and he almost looked exactly like Chad but he had blonde very long hair that went into his eyes.
“What? Oh right i’m the girl the one that has to save everybody the one that has to work with Jamen. Who is that guy anyway?” he laughed as I said the first part but when I mentioned Jamen his face went straight.
“He’s a no good rotten little weasel I hate him so freaking much and you will to if he’s teaching you. He taught me for a little while because they thought I was the one that was supposed to help him but I didn’t have a second power and I didn’t have a craving for blood. Don’t ask me what they were thinking. Those crazy people.” I laughed with him. Before I knew it everybody was back in the train car and I could barley hear what Landon was talking about. Chad came back and sat in his seat.
“So I see you have met your Mr. Right.” Chad snickered in my ear. I threw my elbow back and hit him in the stomach.
“Ow what was that for?” He yelled at me. I thought that he was right behind me but what he had just said it seemed like he was far away. I turned around and saw that he had landed at the other side of the room.
“Oops.” I said to myself. I looked at all the people looking at me then Chad and back and forth. Landon tapped me on the shoulder. I looked at him. He pointed to a man that was standing behind him. Then I realized that I was in trouble. I looked at Chad. A couple of huge guys where helping him up. Landon tapped on my shoulder again and I turned back around to face him. He shot his finger up and pointed to the guy. I looked down and got up.
“Come with me Miss Taster.” The guy said in a proper manner. I followed the guy threw a bunch of train cars and finally we came to one that was empty except for the desk and chair that was facing the wall.
“Sit Rachel.” A voice came from the chair. I looked around but there was nowhere to sit. I wanted to say something but I didn’t want to get into any more trouble.
“Rachel I said sit.” The voice said again but this time it was like in my head.
“There’s nowhere to sit sir.” I said out load.
“Look again.” It said again in my head. I looked around and all of a sudden a chair popped out of the wall and put it in front of me. I looked around and realized that the guy who had escorted me was gone. I cautiously took the chair and sat in it.
“Welcome to Westwood.” The guy turned around in his chair and I screamed in my head. It was the guy I had seen before. The one that I thought was Weston. I didn’t know what to say so I just nodded my head. The guy was staring right into my eyes getting closer and closer until he was right in my face.
“Say goodbye to Westwood.” He whispered in my ear. It sent a deathly chill down my back. The guy went straight for my neck I didn’t move. All of a sudden I herd the door slammed open. The guy looked at the person and vanished. That’s when I realized that I was sitting on the floor. I got up and turned to see who had come in. I hadn’t recognized this kid. He looked about my age. He had long black hair that went into his face. He had bright blue eyes just like mine. To top it all off he was beautiful. I stared at him for a long time. Finally he spoke.
“Hi i’m Jamen. You must be Rachel.”
“Yeah.” Was all I got out. Finally I realized what had happened with the guy and I fell because I was so dizzy. Jamen ran over to me.
    “What happened?” I asked him.
“Well you are being tricked by the bad guy I guess you could say. He can make you see things that are really not there. You never pushed Chad against the will and Landon never pointed to the guy he said you just got up and walked out of the train car. Then you came in here that’s where he was trying to kill you. He doesn’t want you to get trained because we could kill him and he doesn’t want that.” He explained
“But if I am the only one he can make me see things then how did you know what I saw?” I asked him.
“Because I can get into peoples mind. When you thought you were talking to Landon I was talking to everybody when we got back from our meetings. I noticed you weren’t paying attention so I got into your mind and saw what you were seeing.” I listened to his words and calmed down.
“So you mean that if I get trained he wont do that to me anymore?” I said standing up. He stood up beside me and nodded. “Oh ok that’s good. Because I kind of had this feeling like I was about to die it scared me.” I giggled. He laughed with me.
“Now come on everybody scared because I kind of ran out as fast as I could to come save you.” He opened the door and I waited.
    “Thanks for that.” I snickered.
“No problem. Its no big deal.” He opened the door wider and said, “After you.” I walked out and waited for him to get in front of me because I had no idea where I was going. I followed him until we got to the train car that I was in before I walked off
