• Surely no one would try to enter, thought the guard. He was warily guarding his post under the light of the moon. No one must get into the Black Moon Temple, which houses the legendary Onyx Stone, a powerful stone that grants power to its wielder. Should it fall into the wrong hands…

The guard shivered at the thought. He knew very well the importance of his duty. None shall enter, lest all shall fall into ruin.

Suddenly, a shadowy figure approached the temple gates. As he got closer, the guard realized it was a man, and instantly recognized the golden emblem on his chest that shone in the moonlight. He was from the Royal Guard, Dawn Castle’s group of elite knights. Like all knights, he had silver armor and a sword sheathed in its scabbard. His blond hair was caressed by the moonlight, and his blue eyes seemed to pierce the heart of whomever he caught sight of. What was a knight of the Royal Guard doing here?

“Seth? For what purpose do you approach this sacred place?”

Seth sneered at the unfortunate man. “I’ve come to claim what is rightfully mine… Now stand aside!”

“I shall do no such thing!” The guard held his weapon firmly in hand.

“Tch! So, you would pass up the only chance I give you to live? So be it.” He slowly pulled the sword from its sheath. “I gave ye a choice.”

The guard lunged, his weapon aimed for Seth's only vital spot, his neck. But then, a scream of pain escaped from his lips. He fell to the ground, his blood dying the dirt red. He had been sliced in two.

“Hmph! Pathetic wretch,” muttered the victor as he glanced at the two halves of his victim. “No matter. The Onyx Stone will finally be mine!”

As he walked inside, a scout for the king looked upon the scene he had just witnessed.
    "I must warn His Majesty!!!"
He mounted his horse and sped off, unaware that it was already too late.
