    Mirai no Trunks or Trunks of the Future comes from a timeline of terror and desolation due to a pair of evil siblings named Lapis and Lazuli who were turned into cyborgs 17 and 18 by the twisted scientist, Dr. Gero. In Trunks' future world, Goku dies of a heart virus. 6 months later following the events of Goku's untimely death, Androids 17 and 18 bring about the fall of the rest of the Z-Fighters leaving Gohan and Trunks as the Earth's last hope and line of defense.<br />
    <br />
    Once Trunks is 13 years old, he becomes Gohan's student and puts all his focus in his training to become a Super Saiya-jin just like Gohan. After the Androids began terrorizing a city, Gohan and Trunks arrived to stop their threat and after seeing his master get ganged upon by the duo, he rushes in to help only to fail and leave Gohan to save him. They both survive to continue their training.<br />
    <br />
    The next fight with the androids however, would be Gohan's final fight. After trying to persuade Gohan to let him help, Trunks is tricked and knocked out by him so he wouldn't get involved. Gohan rushes to the location of the Androids to try and put a stop to their destruction once and for all. The battle drags on as Gohan puts up his best fight against the pair but he is soon overpowered by them and loses his life. Trunks soon recovers and finds the corpse of his master lying in a rain puddle, causing his anger and sadness to awaken his Super Saiyan abilities.<br />
    <br />
    Three years later, after another failed duel with the Androids, Trunks decides to use the Time Machine his mother built to go back into the past and help the Z-Fighters build a future of peace. While in the past, Trunks trains with his father, Vegeta and ascends to new Super Saiyan stages. A new monster from a future timeline, Cell successfully absorbs Androids 17 and 18 to reach his Perfect state. Vegeta failing to destroy Cell, Trunks steps in and finds out the weakness in his new found strength which caused Cell to outclass him. <br />
    <br />
    Later on the Cell Games start up. Gohan ascends past his Super Saiyan form and heavily damages Perfect Cell, causing him to become desperate and self-destruct. Goku rushed in and brought Cell to Kaio-sama's planet, sacrificing himself to save the Earth. Cell reappears more powerful than ever and shoots a death beam through Trunks, ultimately killing him. After Gohan finally defeats Cell, Trunks is wished back to life with the Dragon Balls and peace as been restored to the Earth. Trunks finally says his goodbyes and takes his leave back to his own time.<br />

    Once Trunks gets back to his timeline, he briefly visits Bulma telling her about his trip and hears an update on the Androids' whereabouts on the radio. He once more clashes with the Androids, easily putting an end to both of them. Soon after, he destroys the Cell of his timeline that hadn't reached perfection due to both androids being destroyed. The future finally knew peace.    <br />
