    Tsuzari Yashizawa (Yashizawa Tsuzari) is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Bleach created by Tite Kubo. She is the captain of the 1st Division in the Gotei 13. Her lieutenant is Yukinari (Karin Kurosaki). She was voted 3rd most popular Bleach character in the latest Shonen Jump polls, replacing Rukia Kuchiki, who had previously held that position. She received 7585 votes, 680 votes more than Rukia Kuchiki, who finished fourth. In the Bleach-based film “No Return”, she is the lead character.<br />

    Character outline<br />
    Tsuzari Yashizawa is considered very young by Soul Society standards. Born in Rukongai, she became the youngest ever to reach captain rank, along with Toushirou Hitsugaya. Thus, she is called “book worm” or “Einstein”, by many. She wears a standard captain’s clothing, save for a purple sash she wears round her waist, which is then tied into a ribbon to her back.<br />

    Tsuzari is generally mature and understanding. She is shown to also be easily amused by others goofing off or drawing unwanted attention to themselves. She is quite protective of Momo Hinamori, despite the fact that she feels hurt that Toushirou Hitsugaya cares about Momo Hinamori a lot. But being responsible, she learned to shut those feelings out, than to risk friendship with Momo Hinamori. Fitting with the nature of her zanpakutou, Tsuzari dislikes windless and warm weather in general.<br />

    Tsuzari’s intuition is extremely sharp and she is one of few captains to correctly suspect Gin Ichimaru of foul play and Sosuke Aizen too, much to her uneasy surprise.<br />

    History<br />
    Tsuzari comes from Junrinan, District 1 of Rukongai. She lived with her parents and when they were murdered, Toushirou Hitsugaya’s grandmother took her in. As a child, Tsuzari was a bit of an introvert, rarely talking to anyone except for Toushirou Hitsugaya, Momo Hinamori and Toushirou’s grandmother. The four were very close and when Tsuzari and Momo left to join the Shinigami Academy, Tsuzari could sense that Toushirou was upset and irritated. She then confront Toushirou and told him that everything would be fine and that she would visit him whenever she had the chance.<br />

    Upon attending the Shinigami Academy, Tsuzari excelled in kidou spells and zanjutsu.         <br />
