Betwixt the sky, the sand and sea,
lies a stupendous serpentine.
Among the sea foam is where she resides.
Hoping there's no human with which she may collide.
She longs for a child to replace her lost young.
"You will do fine," she whispers in her tongue.
The foam rose up along the shore,
grabbing at the toes that walked near her door.
It was none other than a child of two.
A human, in fact, but it will have to do.
Her hands extended from the foam
