It begins with a feeling of oppressiveness, the air so still it feels as though it can be cut with a blade. The night holds its breath, watching Her make Her inexorable way across the land. Hoar frost precedes Her, racing across the earth in lightning-like forks. Her passage marks a turning of the year, a final sigh of warmer days fading. A time of solitude.
She is Cailleach Bheur; the Blue Hag; Spirit of Winter; Controller of the Fimbulwinter; Death.
