- Description: Hello! I am what you call a light bulb, which is an electric light in which a filament is heated to incandescence by an electric current. I was first created in 1879 by the famous Thomas Alva Edison but he was not the only one who tried to invent me first. The first of my kind was an electric light bulb with carbon rather than today's tungsten fillaments, and others of my kind soon blossomed from the electric light bulb.
