Dante is a recruitable guest character from the Devil May Cry franchise, and one of several new additions to the Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax re-release.
In his first encounter with Demi-fiend, he reveals that he was hired by an "old man" to hunt down some demons, including the Demi-fiend, but later decides to spare his life, wanting instead to fight him when he's stronger.
