Tia Dalma was the incarnation of the sea goddess Calypso Bound in human form. Calyspo ended up as Voodoo priestess in the middle of the Caribbean when she was forced into hiding her true identity. As Tia Dalma she ended up crossing paths with Jack Sparrow, and William Turner, (who as she put it had "A touch of destiny" )
