Jafar is the adviser to the sultan in Disney's Aladdin. His true ambition is to rule Agrabah after getting rid of Jasmine and her father, though he has several failed attempts. His side kick is a talking parrot, Iago. And is most important tool is his snake staff, which he often used to hypnotize the sultan in order manipulate him.
Sultan: Prince Ali Ababwa! Of course! I'm delighted to meet you. And this is my royal vizier, Jafar. He's delighted, too.
Jafar: [*very* dryly] Ecstatic.
