• Words.

    Only words.

    But oh how they sting.

    They rip you,

    They tear you,

    They make your ears ring.

    With pain and silence

    You fight back the tears

    That are longing to fall

From what has just pierced your ears.

    Your insides,

    They burn.

    And your confidence,

    It hides.

    In comes a new feeling,

    Despair now resides.

    Your heart starts to ache

    With each breath you take.

    Your voice disappears,

    Your hands violently shake.

    It's then that you realize,

    You're starting to break.

    You clench your fists

    And you close your eyes

    Trying to resist

    Trying to hold your disguise,

    This is futile,

    The pain always wins

And you drop to your knees

    As the crying begins.

    The tears finally drop

    And the darkness prevails.

All your attempts have crashed and failed.

    Your weakness is revealed

    Only encouraging the attacker

    Whose words cant be healed

    They'll leave you broken.

    Even after.

    The words left a mark,

    A scar that digs deep.

Forever and ever will you remember this defeat.

    Words.

    Only words.

    But look what they do,

    They cause pain and heartbreak

With eternal scars feeling fresh and new.
