• Ah, winter.
    It's beautiful, no?
    I love the white softness
    That looks like a pillow.

    Until,

    It smacks my face,
    Chilling me to the core,
    To which I shout,
    "I declare war!"

    I hear my friends laugh,
    As they accept my decree,
    I run to my side
    To prepare my artillery.

I have an army of five.
    They have ten.
    Ah, but they don't know
    My secret weapon.

    My weapon is Charlie,
He has a talent, you see.
    He can create a ball.
    inside it is icy.

    Snow is flying
    Left and right.
I can see we are losing
    This honorable fight.

As I peek over our wall
I see their fort is taller!
    They have built up,
    While ours is much smaller.

I know what I must do
    To conquer all.
    I must go over there,
    And make them fall.

I'll take one for the team,
    For if we lose,
    They will laugh,
    And we will bruise.

    Taking a breath,
    I jump from our fort.
    Screaming and shouting,
    I crumble their support.

    They are mad now.
    That is for sure.
    They all take a shot,
    And then I endure.

    A wet splash of cold
    That runs down my shirt.
    I fall to the ground,
    Defeated in my effort.

    The war is over.
    Their side has won.
    I am forced to admit
    That my side is done.
