The gradient changes and use of tones are lovely. Your proportions, however, need some work. Look into human anatomy lessons and the like, as well as the anatomy of trees. Also, there's a severe lack of texture in the bark of the trees and the folds of his shirt (even a clean-cut English gentleman had folds and wrinkles sometimes....)
