POLK COUNTY, FL -- A Eagle Lake teenager was killed when the car she was driving collided with another car on Dundee Road Friday night.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, 17-year-old Amber Shaw was headed west around 7:30 pm when her 1999 Hyundai left the roadway just west of Carl Floyd Road.

Investigators said the car went into the median, and as Shaw got back onto the road, the car began to rotate and ended up in the eastbound lane, where she drove into the path of a 2000 Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet, driven by 52-year-old Lucinda Shelby of Winterhaven, struck Shaw's car on the driver's side. The teen died at the scene.

Shelby wasn't hurt. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, investigators said.

Their hands intertwined.

He started to walk away...

'Where are you going?' she asked.
She got up, too.
He was walking away.

'Why are you leaving me?!' she asked.
'He can't leave me,' she thought.

'Please, don't leave me...' she whispered.
'I need you...' she proclaimed.
He was fading into the darkness.

'Come back!' she screamed.
But no one was there...
He was gone.
