Sadly, she's not new to Gaia. She's been here longer than I have. And she refuses to believe that anything is wrong with the way she is acting. I think at this point the best thing you can do is take your own advice and hit the Ignore button. I've tried talking to her mom and she won't do anything about it...gods I am sorry.
