I'm one of those girls who you'd see browsing the foreign and independent movie sections of the local rental store and picking up a copy of Sarah Water's Fingersmith or Tipping the Velvet. I like visiting Starbucks every once in a while and ordering what I consider to be the perfect drink -- a vanilla bean frappuccino with hazelnut and caramel in and out and perhaps an espresso shot. At the same time, I enjoy cuddling up on the sofa watching classic horror movies such as George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead while drinking Dr. Pepper and discussing what geniuses the cast and crew are and how ahead of its time the movie was; however, I also enjoy watching a light-hearted romantic comedy and allowing my thoughts to linger on what I consider most important to me -- like my friends and family and where my life is heading in the very near future.
I graduated from high school on May 29, 2009, and currently, I'm in my first semester at Kilgore College. Right now, I'm focusing on completing my core classes before moving onto anything regarding my planned major and minor, but once my core classes are complete, I plan to transfer to the most liberal college in all of Texas -- The University of Texas in Austin. For those who are familiar with the southern part of the United States, Austin is considered the world's capital for music. Several concerts and music festivals are played there throughout the year, but what draws me to Austin is the university's School of Communications. While I plan on majoring in screenwriting, I want to take classes in directing and producing as well, but I also want to focus on a minor in Asian studies so that I may travel to East Asia. I'm in love with Japanese, Korean, and Chinese culture, and before you go saying that I have "Yellow Fever" -- I admittedly do. I love not only the culture but the styles and trends and the cinema and lots and lots of other things.
I'm still what people call "in the closet", although not by very much. My close friends -- and even new friends -- know that I'm a lesbian and don't think much of it. I even have an estranged older brother from my father's last marriage who knows about my sexuality. He's actually quite supportive of me and my views on life and love, and I couldn't be any prouder to be the little sister of a single father with two beautiful little boys. I'll be truthful when I say I don't have very much experience in being a lesbian. I've only been in love once, and the woman I was with didn't actually have a physical relationship with me. We were electronic lovers who sent emails to each other everyday and tried to work around our schedules so that we could talk to each other through instant messages. Our relationship ended two and a half years later because she'd moved back to Hong Kong with her family, but we seperated on very mutual terms.
Currently, I'm running Pokemon League in my area. Ten years ago, there used to be about two or three of them, but since the Pokemania died down, there hasn't been one since. My status as a league owner has been verified on www.go-pokemon.com, and being that I'm dedicating pretty much every minute I can to this outside of my studies, I'm pretty booked.
