Physical Geography: Weather and Climate
[Study of Earth's atmospheric elements in both the short term (weather events)
and long term (climate and climate change). Subjects include temperature,
the seasons, pressure, wind and wind systems, humidity, cloud cover, stability
and precipitation, jet streams, cyclones and fronts, tornadoes and hurricanes.
Study of the world's different climate regions, soils, and vegetation; climate
change (Greenhouse Effect, Ice Ages); and human interaction with weather
and climate.]

Food, Culture and Identity
[Food is the very core of life and one of the most culturally prescribed
areas of human experience. This course will study the role of food in human
history, and the biocultural construction of what is classified as food. We will
examine the meaning of food across cultures with particular attention to how
cultural and ethnic (e.g., Asian American, Native American) identities are
associated with particular types of food. Rituals, religious and family
celebrations, and secular holidays all include the deliberate preparation,
serving and sharing of food (or abstinence from food). We will explore food
consumption and health, the gendered dimension of food, and the social
hierarchies and power relations associated with the commodification of food.]

[An introduction to the principles of effective communication in
business and professional settings. Topics studied include organizational
culture, diversity, listening, verbal and nonverbal messages, conflict and
negotiation, interviewing, communication networks and channels,
teambuilding, and presentations.]

Thursdays Only:

6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
General Anthropology
[A survey of the subfields of anthropology, especially archaeology and
physical and cultural anthropology. The course explores human biological
evolution and variation, cultural evolution, language, and culture change.]

It must be nice to have a job. Even if it's not a lot of hours.
Though I can't say it'd be a good time right now for me anyway.
With school and lessons and church choir, I barely have enough energy to do homework.
Ahh!

Driving's going okay.
I finished my behind the wheel a few weeks ago.
I can try for my license in January. (Yuck.)
Haha. I haven't really found many quirks yet.

I know.
I kind of can't believe how long it's been since I've signed on.
There's just no reason to go on anymore.
It's too hard to get stuff I want,
Games are boring,
Discussion threads turned into, well, the CB.

Nothing much has been up.
School started, obviously.
I broke up with Kyle about two weeks ago,
And I'm actually really happy to be single.
It's gonna stay this way for a while.
I've been addicted to Fire Emblem.
Oh, that family picnic that we had was fun.
The guys and Amy introduced me to a game called Settlers of Catan.
I'm sure I spelled that wrong.
Anyway, I think it'd be really great for us to learn how to play well.
I didn't get to finish with them.
Hm.
I don't think there's much else.
