Lol, that's exactly how I used to draw too, except my eyes looked more like footballs. My aunt is an artist, but I've never really tried anything based off of her style. She draws/paints people too, just like me. I started drawing in fifth grade, which is when my heads looked like triangles. My character sketches are somewhat better, usually depending on what I was intending when I drew the charecter. Sometimes they come out good, and other's are really bad, because I was just trying to get the main idea for a description in the story.
A few people ask me to show them how I draw so good- but then they usually skip the lesson, and just ask me to draw them something. Whenever teachers catch me drawing in the middle of class, they always ask me if I'm taking an art course. I learned to draw all on my own, which has a bonus, because that means I've developed a style all my own. I actually started drawing picutres of make-believe super heroes, with stats on who they are, what their power is, etc. They were pretty crappy at first- no one thought I was going to get any better at it. Now I make their jaws unlock when I show them my latest sketch- lol. I used other people's art work to get me started when I first got interested. Then I kinda took off from there. I've always been writing though. It was second nature, next to reading. I started writing poems, then songs, then finally short stories. I didn't start drawing till much later, though everyone tells me I should be an artist.
