Departures Man, these are never fun to write. Y'all follow my journal and I love you for it, but soon enough, I'm not going to be full of exciting insight into the whosits and whatsits of Gaia. After 4.5 years with the site, 4 of them as an admin, developer, general troublemaker, I'm returning to User Status. --- BIG BOLD DISCLAIMER BEFORE YOU ALL RUN OFF TO SF ABOUT HOW GAIA IS LOSING ITS MOJO/AWESOME/SOMETHING: There's no bad blood. I love it here. Lanzer and the crew have been nothing short of awesome. It's just time for me to move on. I fully intend to be a user, roll out my new profile layout (once I'm done with the felocity.com design), and buy some EIs now and again when I remember to buy a cash card at Target. Y'all can't be rid of me that easy! This is why Gaia has been, is, and will be awesome. I got pneumonia my first AX as Gaia Staff. And y'all made a card on foamcore board. See, now I'm all teary eyed. Let's move on, kay? So yeah, to the stuff above the photo, it does mean that I'm leaving Gaia. But don't despair! Yes, you, you right there despairing. Don't. I'm going on to LinkedIn, a very shiny place which is almost a social network but not. I'm going to be pounding away on front end code doing things like Cash Shop (although much more utilitarian, but still shiny). Oh, and I'll still be posting here for those who really like to read what's up. As a former employee, you'll also get to hear me a bit more. I tease, I tease. Aside from our trying to censor the word "*****" from the Internet, I don't think we've actually had too many monumental disasters. Except deleting the inventory tables back in 05. Yeah, that was me. To those of you with colored names, mods and devs and co, I'm looking at you- don't screw this up, k? I'll still be at cons such as Fanime (where I work) and Otakon (where I party), and I intend to keep things rolling. I've got this gem of a journal, and my LJ, which I let come back to life. It's j_kub for the interested. Does anyone even USE lj anymore? Hah. 	Oh whatever, Kuro. You know that I only see you on IM either way. hugs I'll miss the way things were for you, just as I miss the way Gaia was. But hey, we all move on and change. As long as you are rising the way you should be in life, I can accept it. You still should totally just come down one random week and hang. I'll even take you to my place of work, where we will get 10% off of sushi!

	Good luck in all that you aspire to do in the future! Gaia will certainly miss you, specifically the inventories Gaia will feel just a little bit naked without your shining brownness but it's good to know you'll still be around as a user hugs

	Good luck with being one of us "regular folks"! Hey maybe I'll see ya next year at Otakon? I'm apparently being forced to go by my friends. And I know the feeling about an online screen-name being stuck as your IRL name. You don't know how many times I've heard "Smaddy!" when I'm at gatherings, conventions, etc... it amuses me. I think more people know me as Smaddy than my real name.

I will say that as for LJ, I actually came over here from there, as I'm still bitter about the company being sold into Commie hands, and the censorship and hatred LJ put forth more and more towards beloved fandoms.
