The Hidden Mist's Secret

The new CD, and my verdict.
The new self titled A7X album was released today, and I managed to get my shift covered so that I could rush over to Best Buy and pick up my copy.

I had heard a couple of the tracks pre-released, though these should not be used as a paradigm for the CD as it the most diverse compliation they have released. ( City of Evil was a step in the right direction, but a bit monotonous in the later tracks, save for M.I.A ) They actually seemed to be a bit influenced by RUSH of all bands, throw in a little bit of Iron Maiden and even some mathcore. Their music is a bit more fast paced, which would place the official catergory of the CD in speedmetal/metalcore. Shadows' voice seems tremendously more healhy, which is another plus. The CD lacks in the department of WTFGUITARSOLONIERNIER which was what I loved about City of Evil and Waking the Fallen, though the MUCH more complex riffs and bridges atone for this. ( Though the solo in "afterlife" seems Brian Carrol worthy.) They even bring back the violin solo's and some piano progressions, and.....a full out chorus. o.O

Overall, they amped up the metal diverstiy HEAVILY, because of this the CD lacks just a little bit in contnuity in some of the songs. Though I am overall very pleased what my favorite band has produced this time. icon_smile.gif
