Selling poetry to magazines?

forum:15, topic:56404965
Hi. I'm a writer and one of my mediums I use to express myself like most people out there is poetry. However I am also aware that poetry is a very unpopular read. People don't like reading others' poetry very much anymore.... However I do believe I might be able to make some money off of my proud poems if I sent them in and sold them to a magazine. I can't find any magazines that will buy miscellaneous poems though. Do you know any? Do you know where I can find some?

your favorite platypus.

Check out Duotropes.com for markets to sell poetry. It has lists of type and what they pay.

Also check your local library for (or if you have the money, purchase) a copy of Poet's Market.

There are wild numbers of both online and print journals for poetry. Contact your local writers' centre - they'll be able to direct you to local ones.
