That is hilarious! *imagines many other animal pelt scarfs* I have never seen anything like it for crochet before. But I bet it wouldn't be too hard to fudge, though. Long piece for body, beret shape that closes in back for a head, and little feet tubes. |

I think that's can be crocheted too. Just sc/dc for the long piece. If you want the cable effect as well, there is always the front/back post stitch you can use. the face is easy... just crochet in the round. I'm sure that the face is crocheted! the arms and legs.... would probably started with a chain, then crochet around the chain. Wait..... now I look at other pieces.... I think the whole piece is crocheted. It looks like back loop sc to me... but I'm not 100% sure. |

@nic: his face is definitely crochet but the rest of him (body and feet) are knit. not in a cable but in a ribbed kind of pattern. i would think that you could just double crochet with a chunky yarn back and forth for the body. and either crochet in the round for the feet or make the feet like really long and skinny earflaps? that's my take on it. good luck! (i still plan on making my own longcat scarf... hee hee!)
