Ok, so just got my mac and I want to transfer files over from my PC. acording to the mac website, they say to do this:

To move files by connecting your Mac directly to your PC:

1. Connect your Mac to your PC using a standard Ethernet cable.
2. Make sure that both computers are turned on.
3. In the Finder on your Mac, choose Connect to Server from the Go menu to open the window.
4. Type your PC's network address in the Server Address text box using one of these formats:
* smb://DNSname/ShareName
* smb://IPaddress/ShareName
5. Click Connect.
6. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your PC's workgroup name, user name, password, and the volume or folder you wish to access.
7. Your PC volume should appear on your Mac Desktop.
8. Open the volume and drag and drop files directly from it to anywhere on your Mac.
9. When finished, drag your PC volume to the Trash to unmount it.

My command windows by default says this though: C biggrin ocuments and SettingsPieter>
so how do I get it to say smb:// to get it to work.

Also, I know my IP adress, but what exactly is the "share name" thanks!

(EDIT: I figured out how to do it)

So I am at work and I am trying to connect an extra moniter to display stuff, but I cant seem to get it to work. I tried fiddling with my computer using the normal button that will display stuff if i am using a projector but the button isnt doing anything. When I push something on the moninter it says "there is no signal coming from your computer. press any key on the computer or mouse to wake it up or press the input button on your display to switch to another source." so I don't know why it isn't working...

Btw I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop M35X-S163 (yes I relise this computer is a horrible peice of junk, I have a macbook pro on the way in the mail).

Any idea how to get it work so I can use dual screen?

as of 2007, gaia has gone to complete and utter crap. I have very little tollerence for this site anymore.

Sour (along with bitter) are ways for animals to tell if some food is bad, or has gone bad. This would lead me to believe that a cat could taste sour. However, I would imagine that they would have a much different perception of "what is sour" then us.

In highschool this is the order I took science classes in ( > means seperated grade level, = means in the same grade)

9th grade: Biology
10th grade: Honors Chemistry
11th grade: AP Chemistry (score, 5), Honors Physics
12th grade: AP Biology (score 5), AP Physics B (score 1), IS Organic Chemistry.

I think this is one of the best orders one can take. One should always take chemistry before physics, or take physics at the same time, and one should take biology again after chemistry.

I am now a chemistry major in college, and this is the order of classes I have taken (including the next fall semester I will take) including math because math is an imortant factor, even though I hate math. Also note, my school made me take genchem again regardless of my AP score, needless to say that pissed me off. I got credit for biology, which knocked off quite a few courses.

Freshmen Fall: Honors Gen Chem I, Calculus I
Freshmen Spring: Honors Gen Chem II, Calculus II, Physics I (mechanics)
Sophmore Fall: Honors Organic Chem I, Physics II (E&M)
Sophmore Spring: Honors Organic Chem II, Calculus III (multivariable), Analytical Chem
Junior Fall: Physical Chem I, Synthetic Chem (ochem III), Advanced Biochem.
