According to the official site: "Based on Myung-Jin Lee's fantasy comic series, 'Ragnarok', Ragnarok is an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) that creates a world of fantasy and adventure, which is derived from the story." Basically, RO is an anime-styled MMORPG developed by a Korean videogame company called GRAVITY. Its unique and charming style features 2D sprites on 3D background, a simple windows-like interface, and the ability to customize your character's appearance and abilities as well as choose from a variety of job classes. All these together form a game that has an immensely rich and deep game system, which can be enjoyed in many ways while interacting with other players.

Players have a choice between Premium servers (Chaos, Loki, Iris, new content testing server Sakray) and Free server (Valkyrie). 3. Where can I get it? To play Ragnarok Online, you need the game client, which is free to download. It is recommended to download the client from the official iRO site since it is a trusted source, always up to date, when older clients downloaded elsewhere can cause you to get errors or problems connecting to the game. You may also be able to get the client from FilePlanet or on peer sharing networks like Kazaa and BitTorrent. When downloading from shady sites, in worst case the file might not be what you expect, and it could infect your computer with a virus or other malware. iRO (International Ragnarok Online), which is located in USA, welcomes players from all around the world. Download game client software: iRO Client Download 4. What about hacked, "private" servers? Those are illegal, pirated servers, and posting about them here on Gaia Online is NOT allowed. It doesn't matter how much you dislike GRAVITY, or how you can't afford to play the legal licensed servers - they are illegal, period. Don't talk about them here. 5. When I open the Ragnarok install file, my computer tells me it's not a valid archive. Make sure you are using WinRAR or WinZip to extract the .zip file. If the error still comes up, your download may have been corrupted somehow, try downloading the file again. If using Internet Explorer, be sure to clear your temporary internet files and saving to a different folder, to ensure a new successful download of the file. 6. When I start the game, I get a "Cannot init d3d!" error. d3d is Direct 3D, this is a graphics error. Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed, and the latest drivers for your video card. Also, try changing your display settings to 16-bit color. Is the game not compatible with this operating system? Ragnarok Online works on Windows Vista too, but it might require some configuration due to some security features.
8. Does Ragnarok Online work on Mac? Currently the game is compatible only with Microsoft Windows operating system. There are reports of RO working on Apple computers as well, but for this purpose a Windows emulator is required. 9. Someone in the game is breaking the rules and needs to be banned, how do I report them to a Game Master? Make sure the person is actually breaking a rule, not just getting on your bad side. Screenshots are stored in your RO installation folder, in the 'screenshot' subfolder as .jpg files. You can send an E-mail Inquiry to the GM team reporting offending activity by doing a search in the FAQ and by pressing the "E-Mail Inquiry" button that should appear on the bottom of the page.
