Cause I've been terribly unhelpful as of late. I apologize for the lingering horribleness of the FP. burning_eyes

It's 2:30 am and I can't make myself go to bed. Simultaneously harvesting Steampunk goodies and deco-ing my phone. I think I've finally lost it! XD

As great as Abney Park is, they seem a little overrated. There has to be more out there for people to reference for Steampunk, right? And call me a snarky butthead, but their music doesn't sound particularly steamy to me, either. At least no more so than any other group out there. We need more SP bands out there. Abney Park seems to have the monopoly on things.
what does steam punk sound like anyways? there is another SP band but they arent very good and i cant remember their name sweatdrop

ps. i love abney park emo
I imagine Steampunk sounds like alot of Whistles

That would be... interesting.

I imagine a lot of classic and historical instruments, especially over-the-top interesting ones, from violins to calliopes to pyrophones. Also lots of mechanical and earthy sounds/noises. That would be the best, in my opinion.

I got sucked into Gaia again! Escape is futile. gonk

I just got a new cameraphone so I'm working on taking pictures of my latest aquisitions [for thriftwhore, but I'll link and you can ignore at will]. sweatdrop

Hosting another panel [at Metrocon, total lack of tech support]. scream Hopefully this one won't suck. It's going to be interesting [hopefully not in Serenity terms, though]. blaugh

Other than that, nothing new on my end. I dropped out of most of the online communities this year in favor of my RL Steampunk friends, sorries. heart I suck, I know.

I saw a Neo-Vic in the mall today! I thought he was in costume because he was all alone and, you know, in the mall, but sure enough he was sitting there studying some books looking all prim and proper. I pretty much got "sorry to bother you, but I really love your outfit! Costume or fashion?" Out before I clammed up, but it wasn't a costume! Just a formal, well-fitted Victorian-style suit, cane, and glasses.

My life is that much more complete! blaugh
i think i would of had to hug him

I really did want to! It seemed a bit of a breech of etiquette, though...

Lil Miss Lunatic
Hey guys, I've been away and now I'm back!

This is partly the reason for my disappearance:

http://photos-h.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-snc1/v312/221/75/596256793/n596256793_918703_5422.jpg

I had my baby! He's 16 days old today smile

The other reasons for my sudden and abbrupt disappearance are boring and medical!

So how is everyone these days? Have I missed much??

eek blaugh heart CONGRATULATIONS!!! heart xd pirate

Edit: This ended up more like a blog entry but I wanted to give an update for some reason. I dunno. I'm weird...

I am SO freaked out about the panel on Friday blaugh but in kind of a good way.

I have a strong desire to go full on persona and put on a big show, but I feel really awkward asking my models to run with me on a whim at the last minute. Supposedly one of my friends is taping it, so you'll get to see the epic fail in real time! XD

Seriously, freaking out though. I spent like 10 straight hours working on it today. I have something like 400 images in it. When I do the runthrough tomorrow and find out it's gonna take two hours, I will die gonk It's taken me literally five times longer to finish it than I thought it would, so I'm still not even finished. Not that it's not presentable, it just needs tinkering with. Always with the tinkering!

WHY IS STEAMPUNK SO AWESOME!!?? It will be my downfall!

Anyway, in long-overdue reply to the people who said I need to take things out, I'm tying everything into the fashion. I'm going over artists and musicians who dress the fashion as an excuse to give examples of the awesome people like Kit Stolen, Jake von Slatt, Abney Park, Molly Friedrich, Rivkasmom, etc. I'm not really talking about them, just giving pictures and examples of stuff they've made. I decided against showing videos to set the mood, mostly because it takes nine million years to get a video to where I could actually use it without an Internet connection, which is sad. I also took out things like the list of movies and books, because those are EVERYWHERE. So it has toned down a tiny bit, but still.

The only things I'm REALLY worried about it some of the 400 images being of someone in the audience and me getting in trouble, although I've been advised that I'm just being paranoid.

I'm also quite paranoid about left field questions like "who the frack is Jules Verne?" and me answering in an entirely unhelpful manner such as, "um... God? y/y?"

Other than that SO SO EXCITED! THERE WILL BE STEAMPUNKS IN MY AREA!!!
