"That's hard to say... we don't know much about his motives, so it would be hard to predict his movements." Kimi glanced out of the window as she thought. This window looked out over the entire capital city of the Light Kingdom and out to the gates at the far side of the town. As she studied the landscape, she noticed a familiar looking horse entering through the gate with two people on it. At this distance she could not make out exactly who it was, but she supposed it might be Kaji and Erik, judging from the colors of their clothes.
"Linnea, do you think that might be Kaji and Erik over there?" Kimi asked, pointing towards the horse she had been staring at.

As those around the scene of the loud noise dispersed, seeming to pay no attention to Amare, she turned around and sighed, closing her eyes. When she opened them, she saw her best friend Kiran standing in front of her and immensely out of breath. Ama's eyes widened. "Kiran! What are you doing here? Not that I'm not extremely happy to see you, but I thought..." Words failed her, and she took Kiran into a tight hug.

Kimi thought about Linnea's words. "I just wish we knew where to apprehend him... We must catch this vile man! Who knows what havoc he could wreak if he were to become any stronger. Lei, do you have any idea?"

Amare stood up and returned the sand to its previous position, and went off to investigate the source of the noise she had heard.
When she arrived, Ama noticed two girls and a man standing around a hole in the ground where it looked like a sword had been shoved in. Approaching the girl who had tears flowing from her eyes, the naturally curious Ama asked, "Are you alright? What happened here?"

((Sorry about the long post. I wanted to fully explain the desert and her tribe so nobody would be confused.))
Amare Sevan-Tlalli
Amare Sevan-Tlalli, Water-Bringer of the Fire-Raiser tribe, sat cross-legged in the scant sand on the outskirts of an Earth town near the walls and border of the Light Kingdom. She was floating it in the air and making it blow around and coalesce into random shapes. It often amazed her just how different her Earth powers were than those of the inhabitants of the Earth Kingdom. After all, besides her Water ancestry, she also was half-Earth.
Her tribe, the Water-Bringers, was descended from a Water/Earth joint research and excavation mission that went astray and was forced to live in the desert. Their numbers multiplied, the children being gifted from both races. In the beginning, their Earth powers were of growing, as are many of the Earthlings today, however this exacted too heavy a toll on their bodies, as there were little nutrients in the soil. Over time, this developed into a manipulation of the sand.
Although this sand power was new and amazing, the thing that the new-founded Water-Bringer tribe was known for the most was their ability to raise water from the deep reaches of the ground to create oases in the middle of the scorching desert. As a result, many of the Water-Bringers have gone to live with the other tribes in the desert, such as Amare's Fire-Raisers, trading their skill with water for food and a home. However, the Water-Bringers are held to a strict code: You must never marry outside of your tribe. This is in order to keep the bloodline free of anything that may contaminate the Water powers that made life in the desert possible for many of the tribes.
Of course, Ama did not care about her supposed duty to provide water. She preferred to be free and run her own life. That was why she packed and left at the age of 15 to explore the world, leaving her parents and two siblings behind. Now, two years later, she was content to the deepest place in her heart. However, that contentedness did not last, as she both heard and felt a loud BOOM! coming from the other side of the village.

Kimi thought for a moment. I could ask Father to lend us some more of the royal guards, but then he would be left vulnerable... "I suppose we will just have to wait for more to show up like Erik did."
Remembering how the Shadow Chosen had been headed towards the Light Kingdom before Kaji had arrived led Kimi to wonder just how he planned to get inside, and what he would do once he got there. "Linnea, Lei, do either of you know what the Shadow Chosen was doing in Earth? If we know what he was doing there, we may be able to deduce his plan of action once he enters my kingdom."

A tidal wave of relief swept through Kimi as she heard of the safety of her friends. "Oh, I'm so glad they are safe! But that Shadow man... he walked away? Why would he do that? If he was strong enough to subdue Kaji's fire..." Kimi thought for a moment. "Could we perhaps defeat him? If all five of us worked together, with Erik to support us?"

Linnea's care touched Kimi's heart. "My body is doing fine..." She stretched. "However, my mind is slightly confused. What happened back there? I can't seem to remember most of it..." She remembered being carried to her horse by Erik, his arms strong and gentle, and receiving the necklace, but by then she was already weak. It had all happened so fast. How had she destroyed that demon? Was is that act that had drained all of the energy from her body?

Kimi lay on the bed with her eyes closed. "No thank you, Linnea. I just need to rest for a while... feel free to explore the castle..." Kimi's words once again trailed off and she fell to sleep, not hearing Lei's knock on the door or her conversation with Linnea, resting until her body and mind recovered.
When she awoke, she was feeling much more rejuvenated. Kimi sat up, and realized that Erik's necklace was still wrapped around her wrist. She put it around her throat, noticing that the Yellow Tourmaline was glowing with the same light the Lumen's staff sometimes did. Thankfully, however, this light was not affecting her mind in the same way.
A stab of worry laced Kimi's heart as she realized that Erik, Kaji, and Celeste were still back at the site of the fight with Hecate. She fervently hoped they would stay safe, and maybe even find their way to the Light Kingdom. Some Chosen I am... I nearly fainted as we were facing our greatest enemy! If I can't do better than this in the future, I might as well pass the status of Chosen on to Erik.

"Take the first right you come upon, then the second left. It will be the room at the end of the hall," Kimi replied, faintly. As she spoke, the guard from the gate approached and bowed.
"Your Highness, an Air girl is at the gate. She told us she was with you. Would you like us to let her through?" The guard rolled his eyes slightly at the mention of letting a girl from Air into the Light Kingdom.
Lei? Kimi thought. "Yes, let her through, and tell her that I'll be in my quarters in the castle. Also, would you please tell the guards at the gate to the castle to let her pass?" The guard bowed again, and left to deliver the news to Lei and his fellow guards.
