Well, my brother often has to gain weight really fast, and lose it really fast for wrestling. : P
When he wants to gain weight, he eats A LOT of banana's, and drinks a lot of whole milk.


o_o Try eating more often. Three large meals a day, and then three smaller snacks in between those meals.

I'm sure there is some sort of protein shake out there that will also help you gain weight.


eek That's because overeating bananas can make you constipated. Which would help for a quick wrestling weigh-in, but I'm pretty sure that's not the long-term effect the OP is going for...

o_o He never complains about being constipated, which I'm sure he would...because he makes sure the entire house knows when they should and should not use the bathroom after him. ._.;

He definitely does gain weight from it, though

Anyway. I decided to do some googling for you. o_o
Here is what I found:


- Have meals with the right balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and the right kinds of fat (such as unsaturated and monounsaturated fats, olive oil, canola oil, pistachios, almonds and walnuts). Heinemann suggests the following ratio: 60%-70% carbohydrates, 10%-15% protein, and a small amount of fat.
- Eat foods higher in calories, vitamins, and minerals, as opposed to higher in fat or sugar.
- Pack more nutritious calories in each serving. For example, you may add grated cooked eggs to mashed potatoes, ground chicken to soups and gravies, cheese in casseroles, eggs, and soups, and nonfat dried milk in soups, shakes, milk, and mashed potatoes.
- If you get too full too fast, try having more high-calorie foods or slices of foods as opposed to consuming the whole thing (raisins versus grapes, granola and Grape Nuts versus corn flakes, mango slices versus the whole mango).
- Limit drinking beverages to a half-hour before and after a meal.
- Drink mixed juices (apple/berry, peach/orange/banana as opposed to one juice beverages) for a higher calorie intake.
- Try a small amount of alcohol (4 ounces of wine, 6 ounces of beer, or a half-ounce of liquor with juice) before a meal, as it could stimulate appetite. Moore warns, however, that this recommendation must be cleared with your doctor, especially if you are on any medication. Too much alcohol can be detrimental to health, and could lessen your resolve for eating healthy.
- With moderation, you may add in good fat sources to meals such as nuts, avocado, olives, and fatty fish (salmon and mackerel).
- Snack in between meals. Nuts, dried fruits, and yogurt are good options, but it's also important to find nutritious foods that you will enjoy.
- Have a nutritious snack before bedtime, such as a peanut butter sandwich.

I don't know if there's anything I want to add...for a healthy diet + gaining weight...reading the posts here, I think "xhe loved an angel" explained it the best. Good googling right there..

Weight gain isn't hard. Order pizza with a 2 litter bottle of coke. While you're waiting, eat a bowl of the most fattening ice cream you have saturated in chocolate syrup. When the pizza arrives, eat the whole pie by yourself and gulp down the huge bottle of coke. Repeat this every day, and not only will you achieve your fatness goal, you will go beyond it. You'll weigh like I do in no time.

Then why do I keep gaining weight without even trying? It's that easy.


It's also hard for my friend because she has something wrong with her because when she eats she losses weight and when she doesn't eat she gains weight.

Maybe it's your genes? When I was 11 years old, I was 4 feet 8 inches, and I was 105 lbs. Now I'm 22, 5 feet 7 inches, and 132 lbs. My weight is pretty much genetics, and that I have large, thick bones. I gain weight without trying. XP

Healthy weight gain, please. I forgot to mention that my metabolism sorta helps when it comes to not gaining weight.

In my opinion, I think you should just do what you normally do.
Make sure your staying healthy, be active.
Have a snack/treat once in a while.
Take vitamins.
Eat healthy.
Wellz, that's all I really know. Just make sure you just stay healthy, and trust me, you don't want to be 250 pounds like my dad once was.

What's wrong with unhealthy weight gain? It works just fine.


Because my mom works at a heart center and I know what happens to people when they choose to be unhealthy.

They get fat, which is exactly what you're trying to do.
