Compare and contrast! Here is a topic reserved for comparing the console generations of the past and present. This includes but is not limited to:

• Master System vs NES
  
• Genesis vs SNES

Yeah, that's Sega in a nutshell. Do everything way too early, then let everyone else step over them and create a better version of what Sega did first. Man, they really needed some better folks to take care of product testing, back then. The Game Gear took eight freakin' AA batteries! Ate 'em quick, too! They sould have waited until the technology was good enough to be consumer friendly. Then they go and make the Nomad....oy. Wanted one pretty bad back then, but the poor thing bombed hard.

* Saturn vs PlayStation vs N64
this ones generally a no brainer, saturn has near to nothing that gives it reason to get, playstation boasts the final fantasy series and legend of dragoon and other such sqenix games. N64 has mario and the best graphics of all 3, but generally between these 3 it comes down to which is your favourite game. (excluding saturn <.< wink

* Dreamcast vs PS2 vs Gamecube vs Xbox
dreamcast has reasonable graphics, online play (for a price) has the sonic adventure games, as well as phantasy star online a good console excluding the online play costs. PS2 2nd best graphics, again, boasts the final fantasy series, free online play, although lacks the HDD capabilities of an xbox. gamecube has very few good games, (not sure if it had zelda can't remember) but its graphics were poor, the worst of all 4 of these, and generally it just lacked playability. xbox, best graphics of them all, has the halo games which i kno alot of ppl like, HDD capabilities, BUT the main downfall is the pay for online.

* DS vs PSP
DS has some addictive games like sonic and such but this one comes down to my pure personal opinion, i don't like the shape of the DS i don't think it fits well into the hand at all and i dislike the dual screen and use of a stylus. PSP has the best graphics of the 2 games such as tekken and final fantasy and will have the new Dissidia:Final Fantasy fighting game.

Just a little bit of nitpicking here.

Phantasy Star Online was also both for the GCN and the Xbox, both in one convient package. The Xbox version was the best, as it also had better graphics and voice chat.

The PS2 actually had the worst graphics between the GCN and the Xbox (But better than the Dreamcast), as it had the worst hardware of the 3.

There were 2 Zelda games on the GCN, if you don't count the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Masks re-releases. Windwaker and Twilight Princess.

gamecube graphics failed epicly..... PS2 was much better.

There was nothing aggressive about my statement about Zelda. It was merely informing you.

Also, how much of the GCN did you honestly play? It's actually rather common knowledge that the GCN had better hardware than the PS2, therefore had better graphics. A good comparison point to this is RE4.
