So after club meeting today, I went to go talk to one of my good friends and asked her why she hasn't been talking to me when I tried talking to her. Ever since we got that stupid disagreement about the japan whales and stuff, her answer was because she thought that ignoring me and not talking to me would preserve our friendship when we get into arguments. I basically dropped my jaws and was kinda speechless, how in any way would that ever help? if it's a real friendship you care, you would try to work it out or just forget about it. Move on and still talk, not talking at all will give the impressions your really pissed and never want to talk again. I think it's a really stupid reason or technique to preserve your friendship, especially over a silly disagreement that can be easily moved on with. Now if it was like talking behind your back stuff that is understandable. This was just a simple debating that got out of hand for some unknown reason. Ended up ignoring me for, because we disagreed so much? Everyone has an opinion and to every opinion there may always be a disagreement. Not everyone can agree.
Discussion Thus this is why I'm open to hear what we are about to discuss, it's okay if you agree or disagree, I just want to know what can you gain from ignoring your friend over something silly. Also, that does it really preserve your friendship? |
