Kenny is far too overrated IMO. He's definitely a good fighter but I think against big Lightweights he'd get run over, especially against guys like Gray Maynard. You get those good strong wrestlers on him and they'll manhandle Kenny. I have done three seminars with Sherk now and he keeps telling me that Kenny would still lose to him off of takedowns alone. If Kenny manages to beat Penn then Sherk will simply take it away from him.

Realize though Penn is not a wrestler, he is a BJJ specialist. There is a difference there.

I know that Penn is not a wrestler, but I was referring to guys with great wrestling backgrounds like Maynard who could use their size to make Kenny look bad like Sanchez did; noting that Sanchez is not a wrestler either.

Sanchez at the time of the Ultimate Fighter, however was a Gaidojutsu expert. Gaidojutsu combines a lot of wrestling and jiu-jitsu. So in a way Sanchez was a wrestler, just not a purist.

Just found this topic. Sorry if I get us off topic abit here but, when or if Silva beats Griffin who does he have left as a challenge. He could fight GSP because natrually GSP walks around 190ish so its possible. Though if they were to fight I feel that GSP will proably get dominated in the standup and have a hard time keeping Silva on his back. Though GSP proably has the best wrestling Silva has ever gone up against (equal or abit aboved Hendo give or take). So he still does have a shot against Silva. Its just that Silva is proably the most dominant fighter between him and Fedor to ever grace the planet.

Just something to point out, Silva is far from being the most dominant fighter on the planet. He has four loses to total schmucks, yes, Chonan is a low B-Level fighter, and there are guys out there with far better records than him, Torres, possibly GSP in the future, Faber. I figured I would use bigger names so as to not create too much confusion, but Silva has a lot of proving to do. He showed that he can be beat by Henderson, that really anyone with a dominant wrestling background can beat Anderson, something he has not faced outside of Dan. Forrest can very easily beat Silva, we just need to see which Forrest shows up.

Right because Hendo doesnt have some of the best wrestling in the game. Anyone with dominant wrestling can now beat him. Also one of his losses was from DQ and shouldnt have counted against him. Plus Anderson Silva destroyed the whole MW division. Rich Franklin had to actually move up because he couldn't fight Silva without everyone already knowing the out come. Mind you knowing that Rich Franklin had his regien over the MW division and most that he was one of the most dominant MWs and Silva took him out.

I never said that Dan does not have a dominant wrestling background, I know what his wrestling is like. A DQ loss is a DQ loss, if it happens it happens, you cannot say it does not count, that is like saying I should not have been choked out because I do not want to fight on the ground. Silva has beaten the weak MW division of the UFC. He's beaten a can in Leben, a gassed out Lutter, three one dimensional fighters; who are very low B-Class fighters, Franklin (twice), Marquardt (who is nothing extraordinarily special), and Henderson (his only big name kill). If he manhandles Forrest, I will be impressed, but I do not see that happening at all. Matter of fact, I can see Forrest easily beating Silva, in an almost lopsided fight. If Silva had beaten people like Mousasi, Belfort, Lindland, I would say that he is a dominant MW, but he has beaten up cans, one dimensional fighters, gassed out guys, and old men. Anderson Silva is the most dominant fighter of a washed up division which has a waning talent pool.

Woah all of the sudden people arent calling Rich Franklin special any more beacuse, Silva came in and they forgot who dominance looks like. Its like beating the best in your division isnt special any more. Also it was Lutter's fault for not being in shape and regardless if he wasnt gassed out Silva dominated him so bad it wouldnt have mattered the shape. Marquardt was also considerd to be a very well rounded fighter almost like your Forrest Griffin. Guess what he crushed him too. Stop trying to take out the credibility out of Silva because he has fought the best UFC has to offer him and those fighters were fairly good but, in comparisson to Silva he there are miles away. Also you say Griffin can easily dominate Silva. Name one aspect Griffin is better in Silva in. Stand Up not even close, Griffin doesnt have the aim or power of Silva let alone timing. Which is how Rashad caught Griffin. On the ground its abit more even but, still Silva was able to hang with Hendo who has amazing wrestling and was able to fend off him on his back. Though Griffin's chin I would consider the best ever seen along with heart at the end of the day he is still getting face beat and the ref is going to have to stop it. Griffin better have a damn good game plan to try and step in with Silva and if he does its going to be a replay of Silva's last two fights. Reminding you that Silva's game plan is proven against all the fighters he goes against. He lures them then counters them and its all over from there. So please dont act like Silva isnt one of the best in the world because it clear that he is.

Griffin can pull this out. If not through skill, then through heart. He will make it a war, and I don't think Silva that we saw when he burst onto the scene, will not be there. Silva has been replaced by someone who has become weighed downed by the titile of pound-for-pound for to long. Now I am not putting into question his abilities, but look at his last two fights and tell me in a straight face that they were completly dominating. Griffin has a chance. He has proved so many people wrong in the past. He can still do it now.

What the ******** does Silva has to prove. He could dance like a monkey and rub his nuts like Rashad but, its the challengers that have somthing to prove. My point is Anderson is still dominanting his oppenents in the points catagory and is winning fights. If thats his new game plan which really isnt new because he has always had this counter punching type style then so be it. People have finally figured out that if your trying to lure Silva into your game plan its not happening. He is a master at sticking to his game plan and thats counter punching. Just ask Leben and Franklin what happens when you try step against Silva. You get KO'd and no one wants to get KO'd and so far what Silva does is winning him fights unlike Forrest who just lost to Rashad and who would have lost to Machida. Be honest with yourself for a minute. Heart only gets you so far until the ref has to stop it because Forrest decided to eat one to many knees.

Question is will Sanchez counter this and if he does, what does Clay Guida has to do. Diego Sanchez could possible counter the wrestling. What's left is the stand up, and I give a slight edge to Sanchez. He is more versitile in his striking. Clay Guida is kinda like a cave man when it come to striking. It is not as technical.

Heart. Its one of the key elements to MMA and Silva has it too. Having four losses each one of the making him a better fighter and coming back and learning from them. Trust me Silva has heart if he didnt why didnt he just quit after his first loss or second loss in fact why didnt he just quit when he had any of the losses. Some people others wont. Silva is part of the percentage that wont and will try to find a way to win no matter what. Forrest is like that too I will give him that but, Silva doesnt need to take a hundred punches to face from Bonner to know that he needs to get better technically.

UFC 99 coming up. What do you guys think? Franklin v Silva (Wanderlei), Kongo v Velasquez, Swick v Saunders, Davis v Harding, Fisher v Uno, and the return of Mikro Cro Cop. Should be a good card.

Should be good. I especially want to watch the fights Swick v Saunders and Davis v Harding. Swick v Saunders, because I like Mick Swick and the winner might be next in line for a title shot. Davis v Harding, because there's a lot of bad blood there and the fact that I like Marcus Davis.

Franklin, I believe has the crisper of the striking and this is Wanderlei's first weight cut. It is going to be interesting how he deals with it. But imagine Wanderlei Silva at middleweight. I have meet a few guys that trained at Chute Boxe and they were there when Wanderlei and Anderson were there. They told me about their sparring matches together. Imagine if Wanderlei beats Rich spectacularly, there might be a title shot in the future.

Velasquez, definitely has the talent, but this is his first true test at heavyweight. Kongo is a beast. And he is improving his game every time. But I've been to AKA and I've seen Velasquez train. He is more than ready. But then so is Kongo.

Swick, who also trains at AKA is hungry. He wants a shot at the welterweight belt. He was so close when he was at middleweight and he let that slip. But Ben Saunders is a legitimate treat.

Davis, has more experience, better stand up, better ground game, and one of the best chins in the game. And then there's the bad blood.

Now this fight is questionable. Caol Uno hasn't been in the UFC since he fought Hermes Franca at UFC 44. Sure he has fought in Shooto, K-1 Hero's, and Dream and fought some tough guys. Spencer Fisher has done the same. But he hasn't compete since UFC 90. So ring rust could be a factor here.

And Cro Cop is just going to destroy Al-turk ... maybe

God...I'm just hoping Cro Cop has his head in place. He's always been mentally unsure at times, and it's at those times he's in a slump. But when he's on fire, my God! No one (other than Fedor) could stand in his way!

Strikeforce tonight, and even bigger news than that, Mousasi v. Sobral at Affliction: Trilogy. Definitely a fight for the tenth spot on the Top 10 LHW list.
