Ok so as a tafe student I was able to get windows 7 i'm currently running vista my question is:

Will I loose any data or need to reinstall any programs?

If you choose upgrade, it'll be ok. May take a bit though.

"are you', you mean. Use proper english or you sound uneducated.

Yes, it will ask if you start it from inside windows.

I thought that was only for the upgrade package? In any case to the OP's question. You can either choose to delete your vista OS and install Win 7 or you can choose to place Win 7 on a different partition than Vista. Do NOT put them on the same partition as that could cause some major problems. If you need to know how to make a new partition, there should be a little option on your boot disc (assuming you got it legally).

The full disk will do both.

Key word being download. You can't run an iso image straight from your com (if it's for an operating system). You need to burn it to a CD and boot from the disc during startup.

I know that my question is will it count as an upgrade or will I have to reinstall programs?
