I am pretty sure this is the wrong forum, but this forum seemed to fit the closest. But anyways, I am looking for a BB Gun, budget is $130. And I am looking for a rifle type deal. Not a handgun, not a sub-machine gun, but a rifle. I had my eyes on a Ruger Blackhawk Combo, on Amazon for $109, but there is probably something better. I don't want a gun that uses CO2 cartridges or anything like that. And if it comes with a scope, that would be great. I would also prefer that it shoots .177 bbs but I am lenient.

And since I am new to the BB gun, I would love any tips you might have on maintenance, shooting, storing, etc.

Bump...
Edit: Oh wow, bumped exactly 3 hours later.

Exactly 3 hours later was still several hours too soon.

Bump?

Well, personally i would recommend a 'Red Rider'. It is one of the oldest BB gun models ever made, it was created in 1938 and is still being manufactured, the reliability on this gun is a almost a legendary. It holds up to 650 rounds, and is almost dead accurate. The Price is 35 bucks, so its extremely cheap. its great for people starting a collection. The cocking mechanism is extremely easy and basic (not to mention fast), it was created like the Winchester Level Action Rifle. So i say get this as a first, before moving on to the large models. However you can't attach a scope, or grip.

Hope this helped

(and yes, this is the gun from christmas story . . . and fallout 1 . . . and fallout 2 . . . and fallout 3)

Hm, looks nice. It would be something I use for just target practice though. I am not just using this for play, I plan to hunt small game with it. It's cheap price is attractive, but with its mere ~238FPS and lack of upgrading is a push factor.

I am definitely going to get it though. It will make a great target-practice gun, I am just going to get another "main" one, you know?

EDIT: I am starting to like these Red Ryder guns. Any other guns that are like these?

I siggest an old fashion rifle style, pump action is better then c02,pumping doesn't cost money

Well, are you looking for a BB gun, or a Softair gun. Softair gun shoots plastic bbs, it's also called airsoft. If you're just looking for a BB gun that shoots metal BB's i would go with a durable, and one that would last.. not one that just looks cool..

A BB gun, as it says in the title. And I know about quality of aesthetics, I am very picky when it comes to quality.

Mainly i would recommend any Dasy BB gun, the Red Ryder is the only BB gun with the Winchester Cocking style under 100 bucks (to my knowing), making it great for people new to BB guns. Its great for target practice, bellow ill provide a link showing how it works

Knotice how you load it using the hand guard, rather then the standard 8 pump. Personally i don't like the 8-pumps, when your shooting its better to have a 3 second reload, rater then 30 second reload. When you truly master the iron sites and the ability to shoot this gun at raged targets i would move up to larger bb guns. (as you said, its better to keep this as a side gun for practice) Its better to practice Iron-sights/wind-density/and elements rather then having an over powered Sniper Rifle for practice. My dad gave me his old Red Rider, its about 35 years old and its in better condition then most of the airsoft guns on the market. I don't know how good the newer models are, so give me an update if you get one. But when it comes to target practice i use the good 'ole Red Rider. When your actually using a high powered Sniper (bb gun) it will be a breeze
