You can get the putty-erasers at most art supply stores, I'm pretty sure. Office Max (or your local equivalent) should have the pencil-erasers. You're talking about the ones that click out of the plastic tube, right?

Those putty eraser are really easy to find. In every fine arts shops you may find them , and those eraser like pens you talk about are called ''mechanical erasers''. I've got one , a Faber-Castell one. Just go to a fine arts shop too , and ask for them. They're pretty easy to use and the bring you wonderful results!! biggrin

The putty erasers are called kneaded erasers and they are pretty easy to find. Go to any art shop and you'll most likely find one.

Why would you need a putty eraser? I can empathize if the comic was to be totally in pencil, but pages are traditionally inked...

Even with inking it might still be a good idea to have a putty eraser as they clean up lines better than rubber erasers.... I personally sometimes draw lines too wide or when correcting a line without erasing it, I extenc it too far so I need a putty eraser to clean up the sketches... On top of that Putty erasers are good for whitening up your page again cuz if you're like most artists I've met, then a page can get awfully smudged from your hands. And a putty eraser can clean up the page without doing too much damage to your drawing, whereas a rubber eraser will totally erase your drawing when cleaning up a page... sweatdrop Wow, that felt like a long winder....

I dunno what's real without you. How can I exist without you?

I personally prefer plastic erasers, I'm not a big fan of the kneaded ones.
You can get the pencil ones at like wal mart and stuff, but they're so soft they don't last very long.
