You can paint/draw/sculpt/create without making the point monetary too. I don't think you can reach a 'pure' form of art. It's completely subjective.

On the flip side, we have some great murals outside my school that are under a bridge, but all around it are ugly tags and random things kids spraypaint when they are bored at night. Which is just vandalism.

But you can figure out who made those paintings/drawings/sculptures/etc, while with graffiti you can sometimes never figure out who made it unless its for recognition or you catch them doing it.

With a good graffiti artist you can tell who made it. An artists "signature" is in their style and prowess as an artist. There are plenty of graffiti artists who make money at it as well for their designs. Plenty who are known for what they do.

It's just like any other form of artmaking, the medium may vary but the end result is the expression or point of view of the person who made it. This is true of all artists, sculptors, painters, tattoo artists, etc.

It's deformation of property.
Completely illegal.
And extremely fun when you're with the greatest people in the world.

It's art, but there is no "pure" form of art.
There are traditional forms, if that's what you mean?

not true. There is plenty of paintings/drawings/sculptures that are anonymous, or have never been identified. Graffiti is just a medium. It's the intent behind a piece that makes it.

this is true but painting are more likely to find the maker, because some of Da Vinchi's art wasn't known to be his until the painting were looked at and they had the same brush strokes that was known to be how Da Vinci would paint.
