People who run around talking about how grate of an artist they are, but when you ask to see their work the only thing they have to show you is a really bad sailor moon fanart. Usually the mall rats who hang around the game store.
People who talk a lot when I'm working.. Seriously, you want to watch me, fine! But be quite about it!!!
And finally, people who expect you to draw for them without complete for free simply because you like to draw. Sure I like to draw! when it's for me... When it's for you it becomes time consuming and uses my valuable materials. So yeah, I want your money.

I agree with you there (the bolded)

I would have to also agree on this.

Plus, realism isn't my best area, neither are cartoons.

I hate when you've just started drawing something, and someone see's it at another angle and goes
"Is that a...*random thing that ISNT what you're drawing*?"

like, I was drawing a profile view of a french chick, and a kid comes up and goes, "Is that a horse?" I was like furious scream

1. people 'hovering' when i'm drawing. It makes me very self-conscious about my work.

2. people who ask "what is it?" or "is that a [insert random object here]" when i've only drawn a few lines or when its glaringly obvious what it is.

3. when people say something "sucks" without any explaination or advice on how to improve it. Its not helpful at all.

4. the fact that my scanner refuses to pick up lines that are supposed to be there, but manages to scan in every other accidental mark left on the page. i swear, that thing hates me T.T

      1. I hate it when people watch me drawing... I always draw naked bodies first so OMFG GTFO.
      2. When people who obviously suck can't see that they suck and start to show off.
      3. People who can't take even the simplest critique and start saying "It's not like you're better than me" WTF.
      4. People who don't practice but whine all the time why they can't draw.
      5. People who put minimalistic effort and simple Photoshop tool rape to make their drawings somehow look good, completely ignoring something important like, ANATOMY.

I hate when someone watches me, and starts going "no, that should like XY" I was just going to do that after I drew at least a cirlce for his head you...! OR when I am trying to erase something I messed up they start goin "NOOOO!!!! That looks awsome!" Why? I messed, up I can do better, why be satisfied with a second ranked piece? And one of my friends gets horribly mad if I crumple a piece of paper with bad drawing on it... come on, let me try again and don't force me to stick with a bad base! gonk It is just normal cheapest kind of printing paper, it cost 2 dollar/500 piece here.
Also, when people draw mermaids, and make their tails bend. NO! If it is someone in a costume, ok, but think about it. It IS a fishtail. A fish has his spine there. Can you bend you spine like you can your knees, without breaking it? No you can't, and fish/merfolk can't either! It bends on a soft circular line, like that of a snake, not in 90 dergeas! gonk scream
EDIT: Oh, yes another thing. When I don't want to show somehting, and people can't get over it. Once one of my friends simply teared my folder out of my hand, to show it some teacher, but I didn't want it because it was full of yaoi, and I had to almost punch her, and drag her to ground, and fight with her because she refused to give it back to me and not to show it the teacher. That thing is like my diary! And I was the idiot...of course.... stare

"I love hard work, I could watch it for hours"-by Synistry
o_O dam why do so many of you guys get bothered when people watch you draw? This may just be me, but the way I see it is that the only reason to be bothered by someone watching you draw is if you are embarrassed by what you are drawing. Which i guess I could understand if your doing something like hentai or something else equally lame.

When people watch me draw I use it as a chance to start conversation and show em my other works. In fact I think its a great compliment when someone takes interest in your art, but thats just me.

MY personal peeves are

1. People who dont take critisizm because for some reason they feel there is nothing they can do to correct their art.
2. People who critisize based on preference rather than artistic technique. Yes you may prefer skinny people over muscular or tight pants over baggy... THATS NOT CRITISIZM. Go die =D
3. People who dont admit hentai is porn. Yea I know you drew it, but I dont see the guys making porn pictures on XXXboobs calling their work "Artistic Photography". There is a REASON why the word means "pervert" in japan
4. When people ask you to draw this or that without you offering. "Draw me plzz!!"... Unless they are hot, thats completely different =D.
5. When people compliment art that they know is ABSOLUTE CRAP, but are trying to be nice. "OMG ur stick figure is friggen AWESOME!". No one will improve if you do that.
6. When people interupt me while im in a good drawing mood. I dont mind being talked to, but making me do something that forces me to drop my drawing pisses me off. Dont do it or ill kill you <3
7. People who ONLY draw fanart, ESPECIALLY when they copy official art. FFS deviant art has 5million naruto fan arts we dont need 50 more FROM THE SAME ARTIST. I respect an artist that does fanart occasionally and actually adds something NEW to the character
8. Broken japanese on art comments: "KAWAIII DESU KAHH!!" "SUGOII!!!!" "DESU DESU DESU". No, it doesnt make you cool, so at least learn the language to a moderate degree instead of butchering it to death with overused phrases.
9. When I see an artist who is beyond amazing get less page views than a bad artist who draws cat girls with boobs or something else generic. When I say bad, I mean VISIBLY bad, not an opinionated bad.
10. When I wanna draw but nothing goes right and i go supa sayain rage attack and uber ninja the paper into confetti

Wow I have alot of peeves, hmmm maybe its just my anger issues o_o

I'm sorry, are you waiting to use this sketch pad?

.Being questioned "What is it?"
I wish you could see into the future or how about waiting until I'm finished?

.Moaners
Aw you can't draw. Too bad I don't care.

.Draw me!
Simply put, no.

.I stole this, but I'm still an artist.
Ignorance must be bliss.

There's a thunder in our hearts baby.

Srzly guys, So many people have problems with others looking over your shoulder while you draw.

Well let me explain their perspective. Most people do not really draw for fun, and if they do they do not do it often. It is very intriguing when someone is showing their creativity that you just want to go see. The fact that they keep looking is a sig that your work has caught their interest, and it could be one of two things: Either ur stuff is so bat sh1t weird that they cant look away, or your stuff is so good that they must observe how you do it. Take it as the second possibility and be flattered rather than annoyed.

You see what happens is that this improves networking possibilities. Little Timmy looked over your shoulder and sees this amazing master piece you are creating. However you communicate to him verbally or through body language that you hat ethe fact that he is nosing all around in your buisiness when he was simply trying to admire your work. Little timmy has a dad/uncle/friend's uncle who is looking for a skilled illustrator and he WOULD have referred you, but you had such a bat attitude when he was simply trying to admire your work that he chooses not to refer you.

It may sound far fetched, but you would be suprised by the opportunities you miss when you get to conscious to allow people to admire your work.

      XCUSE ME.

I draw yaoi and it ain't lame. I demand apology NAO.

xD xD Nah, just joking. xD When I draw I always draw the naked body first before putting clothes... that's why I never really want people to look at me drawing. It's embarassing =.= You won't believe how many religious friends I have... and how faithful they are. Not to mention, parents.

My aunt once peeked into my sketch book and... her eyes grew bigger than volleyball. "You draw naked people???"

Busted. it wasn't even hardcore... I was always afraid to draw crotch area so... I mean, no genitalia and my aunt was ready to explode. People around me are just too religious it's boring.

Bye, GAIA.
I, like many other people, hate when people look over my shoulder and watch me draw, especially when it's in its first stages were the person has no clothes.

Also I hate it when people:
- ask for free art.
- ask the most stupidest question ever such as "Did you draw that!?" Yes, why do you think the drawing's right in front of me and I'm working on it?
- ask for criticism then get all angry about it when I'm just being honest.
- say they can't draw when they never practiced once in their life.
- basically copy someone else's art/idea while "tweaking it" and saying that it's their own original idea when it looks similar to the art/idea they copied from.

There's probably more, but I can't remember.

Hmmm I dont know the religious friends you keep, but even though I am Christian myself I have no problem drawing the nude human form. There is a difference between nude art and porn. If shes grabbing/licking her boobs and spreading her legs, ya its porn. If you've got a nice artistic pose thats thoughtfull then I would call that art. Then again yaoi may not be my personal cuppa tea, but wutever.

I personally draw the muscle structure rather than a nude for males, which can be considered the same thing, but theres no p***s so all is good =D. For females I draw em naked first, but I dont define nipples oor the poon tang and I leave the muscle structure etched in. People have an easier time understanding you are doing a guideline rather than porn of you dont define uneccesary areas of sexuality such as nipples and crotch. In the end though, its what ever YOU want to do even if your religious friends may wince.

I just don't like people watching me it makes me nervous to feel their eyes on me and I end up messing up. I get annoyed when an onlooker asks me to draw for them or teach them how to draw, other then that I don't care it just bothers me.
