• Kino yawned as she woke up. It was quite early. She went to her calender boredly til she got a good galnce at it. She marked out the day and threw on some clothes. She sat down brushing her hair. The whole time she was singing, "Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday...to me!" She looked at herself. She looked perfect in her school outfit. She hurried and filled her backpack and ran downstairs.

    "I see you excited! You know how early it is?" Kino's mom said happily. Kino ignored the early question, "Who wouldn't be? I'm going to be fifteen! That means I am soon to be sixteen." Her mother handed her; her lunch. "Don't grow up too fast on me now." "Well sorry!" Her mother laughed and hugged her. "Have fun at school ok Kino?" She nodded and took her lunch. She waved and ran out the door. "Tell baby Jax I said bye!" Baby Jax was Kinos little brother. He was still a baby, but he acted like a little boy.

    Kino walked down the street. She looked down an alley. Hmm, I never saw that before. Maybe it's a shortcut! I need to get to school early anyway. She turned and walked down the alley. She suddenly was dropped on the ground. She felt a horrid pain on her stomach. She tried to look at what was happening, but everything was a blur. She cried until she passed out. She barely heard vocies. "I think she's out. Lets just make her drink this and she will be there ok?" It sounded like a man on a phone. She suddenly tasted a watery taste. Then she was knocked out cold.

    She woke up and looked around. She got up. She yawned and felt something hit her leg. She turned round and round til she saw a tail. She finally noticed it was her tail! She looked at it. "As long as I odn't have a pair od ears to match." She took off her hat and felt something pointy and fluffy. She screamed and closed her eyes. "This is fake. This is a dream. Don't worry. Don't worry!" She opened her eyes and saw a boy. She screamed and fell down. He had a matching tail and pair of ears like her. His teeth were pointy. "Are you ok? You seem worried miss."

    Kino told the boy her story. He just laughed. "wow miss. Your quite funny By the way I am Kodenarumo. I turned Fifteen today!" She smiled. "Me too! I am Kino. What's today anyway?" "Well it's April 19. You should know." "What year?" "What's a 'year'?" She looked at him worried. "Where am I!?"
