- Description: In 1913, Peter Carl Fabergé was commissioned by Tsar Nicholas II to make the 43rd egg in the Imperial Egg Collection. Made from rose quartz, platinum, and orthoclasse, it looked as though the egg was formed by ice crystals. Thus it was named "Winter".
